Reviews from the April 12, 1996 show at Euclid Tavern in Cleveland Heights

Hey all. Caught the 7 Year Bitch show last night (Apr. 12) at the Euclid Tavern here in Cleveland. I must admit I was quite impressed with the show although they only played for about 75 minutes. It still was very intense. I mananged to get the bands autographs after the show which proved to be quite amusing. Elizabeth was truely amused by the flyer promoting the show that I had signed. She just couldn't stop laughing at it. It's a picture of this "thing" with fishnet stockings and a really big face (you would just have to see it). Valerie and Roisin found it just as amusing. Valerie said she still finds it funny everytime someone wants her autograph. I did find approaching Selene for her autograph very difficult. She was just standing in a corner by herself (it looked like more than just having a bad day) and didn't seem to thrilled that I asked for it. I think it was easier to get it because I already had everyone else's signiture. She just had this weird vibe about her. By the way "Sore Subject" and "Rest My Head" blow the album versions away. Sorry for being longwinded. If they come to your town catch the show. It's definately worth it.

OK-I drove 4 1/2 hours from Niagara Falls, thru a hurricane and almost became roadkill by a tipping semi, to see 7 Year Bitch in Cleveland-Euclid Tavern-AND IT WAS WORTH IT! (I knew it would be a better venue than Toronto's Opera House, which would have only been 1 1/2 hour drive) The show was great & I wished they would have played longer. The set consisted, in chronological order...Lorna, Rest My Head, Crying Shame, Jack, M.I.A., Deep In the Heart, The Midst, 24,900 Miles Per Hour, Whoopie Cat, Sore Subject, History of My Future, Miss Understood, 2nd Hand and Hip Like Junkverbatim from their playing list. Roisin and Valerie were "ultra-cool" and affable people. (ie. chatting & posing with myself & friend for pictures) I didn't see Liz around before the show and Selene did not seem to be "in the mood" for such rigamarole. (I can't blame her. Would you really want strangers to come up to you every night as if they have known you for years & smooze you for pictures?) She does put on a great show though, as all of them did. I think Selene has the copyright on gnarling and glares. We all loved it! See them soon, you'll have something to tell your grandchildren about.
