Reviews from the April 19, 1997 show at The Boarding For Breast Cancer Benefit in Lake Tahoe
Submitted by Mostera:
Yesterday (4-19-97) I was witness to 7 Year Bitch live in Tahoe at the
Boarding for Breast Cancer benefit. Although I have listened to their
music, it was my first time actually seeing them. Let me tell you, as
far as bands go, bands usually don't do much onstage with their
performances. However, this was an exception. The ladies of 7 Year Bitch
rock louder, harder and more powerfully than many male bands in the same
genre. Watching them perform is like watching a contained explosion, it
is an amazing sight to behold. And I had the pleasure of meeting and
obtaining the autograph of the drummer Valerie and the bassist
Elizabeth. 7 Year Bitch explodes like a bomb, they are wonderous
musicians and I can't say enough about them. Nothing but respect.

well having driven 26 hours straight to reno....and getting 4 hours
sleep we (me and my friend derekwood)were pretty damn tired when we
pulled into the ski resort....everyone seemed to have a snow
boardincluding the members of 7 year bitchi had sent a letter to
elizabeth asking for an interview for my show...when i got to the press
room i left a message for her...and a few minutes late wood came over to
me saying we got our interview...suddenly i was shaking elizabeth's hand
and being introduced to selene and the band....while in their dressing
room selene was writing the lyrics to a new song they were going to sing
in an hour....she was starring out into the mountians and you knew she
was feeling the song and the lyrics were coming...selene asked about the
imusic message board and what people talked about....before their set
val was watching angelface....and we both laughed how they sounded like
heart...angelface was old and the crowd was laughing and begging for
them to stop *_*...finally the bitches came out and opened with "the
history of my future"....throughout the 7 song set...they were dealing
with technical problems...billy zane was mixing it on the side and had
his hands full....at one point the bass and drums went out...and
selene's voice was all you heard ...they kept on playing through
it....selene had a cute ski hat on and was very playful......she did her
trademark glares at the crowd, but she looked happy ....Lisa looked a
little nervous but her guitar was great...she rocked!!...they all looked
really cool and played a great short but sweet set.....songs included:
"whoopie cat", "crying shame", "it's too late", "mia", "miss understood"
and a new untitled number i saw selene write just a few moments
before...she held up the paper with the lyrics for half of the song then
threw it down and just went off, falling to her kness and hitting
herself on the head....if this is a sign of the songs on the new
album....i'm excited....it sounded like 24,900...loud and smooth....well
i could talk all day about this...and me and wood did on our long
journey home to north dakota...I'd like to thank all the memebers of 7
year bitch for making my trip very worth while and until i see them in
seattle on may 24th.....I have these great memories.....*_*
