The Mask (1994):
When Peggy Brandt (Amy Yasbeck) is outside Ripley Auto Finishing, she introduces herself as being from the Evening Star. But when she talks to Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey), she says she's from the Tribune, even though her press badge reads "Evening Star". And to confuse matters further, the newspapers in the warehouse read Edge City Tribune. Also, Stanley calls her advice column "Ask Peggy", but she refers to it as "Dear Peggy".
Men In Black (1997):
In the beginning of the movie, NYPD officer James Edwards (Will Smith) is running after a Cepholopiod alien. The Cepholopiod leads Edwards to a tall building and climbs up the wall to the roof. Edwards enters the building and finds a circular ramp leading to the roof. He starts running clockwise up the ramp. In the next scene, he appears to be running counter-clockwise. Vincent Ferrara found the turnaround.
The Missouri Breaks (1976):
Towards the middle of this Western, Tom Logan (Jack Nicholson) confronts another cowboy in the middle of a wide, shallow river. As the scene builds, it easy to notice small white objects moving rapidly behind Nicholson: trucks moving along an interstate. Todd Cole spotted the slip.
My Best Friend's Wedding (1997):
If there's any reason to see a movie twice in the theater, it's that doing so makes it much easier to spot slip-ups. I found these the second time around:
When Julianne Potter (Julia Roberts) is smoking in the hotel hallway, she hands the cigarette to Richard (Paul Giamatti). He doesn't hand it back, but in the next shot, she's holding it again.
And in the next scene, when she's lying on the floor of her hotel room and Michael O'Neal (Dermot Mulroney) takes the cigarette from her, a large pice of ash falls in her hair. It disappears after a little while, then reappears again.
Finally, when Julianne's crossing the balloon-filled tennis court to talk to Michael, the boom mike dips in to the scene briefly. See what happens when you give things a second look?
