Andy's Comics Page

First version of this brand-new page...bear with me!

For many years, I have enjoyed reading and collecting comic books, though that's sort of on hold at the moment, while I'm in a city where I can find nowhere that sells comics : ( My favourite titles are Uncanny X-Men, Amazing Spiderman, Incredible Hulk, and, though I don't seriously collect them (too many and too expensive), I enjoy Superman and Batman as well. When I'm rich, I'll start on them : ) Notice that I said when, not if. That's the kind of guy I am ; ) I also buy most of the Star Wars spin-offs from Dark Horse Comics, which are usually well worth a read. If you're at all interested in comics, (which you should be if you're reading this), then you should definitely check out my neighbour Jeanne's page... It really is an excellent site, one of my favourites...

Andy's X-comics

As a big X-Men fan, I have ruthlessly sought out back issues wherever they may be for the past three years...as one of the few Marvel lines that is profitable, Marvel apparently think that whenever they need more money, they can just put out a new X-title...since there are about ten a month now, it became ridiculously expensive to keep up with the story, so I dropped them all, except for Uncanny X-Men (the original book, which has been going since September 1963)...I have every Uncanny from the past 9 1/2 years (hard work!), and the earliest I have are 15, 17, 18, 21, 27 and 35...I think I need 102 or so of the second run now...

Andy's Spider-comics

I used to be a huge Spidey fan, but the damn clone storyline was the last straw...so now I don't buy any, but I have a large number of Amazing Spiderman back issues...and I hope to someday get them all...the earliest issues I have are 27, 35, 49 and 99...

Andy's Hulk comics

Since Peter David has written The Incredible Hulk, it has been one of my very favourite titles...of course, it helps that PAD has worked with great artists like Gary Frank, Dale Keown and Todd McFarlane, but the story is more important than pretty Image-esque artwork...I have 80 or so of the 110-odd issues that PAD has written, including some of my all-time favourite stories, like the 'Troyjan War' (413-416, inexplicably cheap as back issues), the first part of 'Strange Matter' (370, 371, the second part wasn't quite as good), and of course, the bachelor party and wedding of Rick Jones (417, 418, perhaps PADs funniest scripts, with dozens of in-jokes for serious fans)

In the days before I started buying Marvel US comics, there were A4 size Marvel UK comics, which I used to love...on which note:

If you have a copy of no. 42 and/or 43 of the Marvel UK Transformers comic, mail me and I absolutely, positively guarantee I will give you everything I own*

The Fluffy Marketplace

I'm always interested in buying X-Men, Hulk and ASM back issues at reasonable prices, so if you have any you'd like to sell, e-mail me with details/prices/whatever...the cost of shipping to the UK tends to cancel out any discount incentive on cheaper issues, but it would be worth it for older/more expensive books...
