JJ has a serious back injury right now, but if you want to send him your get well wishes, then e-mail Kathy Lizenby, and she guarantees that your message will reach Jeff...so get to it! : )
And how about the greatest athlete on the planet,
Shawn Michaels' 1995 track record
And Shawn's best friend, Diesel's 1995 track record
Well, he *was* champion for a year...and won the triple crown in seven months,
13 days...and broke Razor's nose! Tee hee!
And here's the record for the only quality tag team that Vince had
this year...The Smokin' Gunns
*shudders at the corny name* And now that one of them has a
serious neck injury, the number of established teams in the fed drops
to...well, zero. Bring back Rick and Scott Steiner!!!
And here's Bret's younger brother, Owen Hart's 1995 track record
And their brother-in-law, Davey Boy Smith's 1995 track record
So how did I first get into wrestling? Well, my younger brother Simon
borrowed a tape of WrestleMania 8 a few days after the event...I watched,
fairly bemused by the whole business, and for a few weeks it was pretty
difficult to tell what was going on with particular moves...I have to confess to
the tragic fact that the Ultimate Warrior's run-in at the end of the show
was really exciting to a 15 year old, and so I started to get into the sport
more, borrowing tapes from more of Simon's friends, who soon outgrew wrestling,
while I perfected my wrestling skills on Simon and my Mum! ; ) It was just
the greatest thing I'd ever seen...the thing with wrestling is, when it's
good, it's the greatest spectacle in the world, when it's bad, you know
you're watching a Hogan match...Hogan is such a pathetic wrestler that
it is impossible to suspend one's disbelief ("mark out", as the insiders
say) when watching him...his matches just look so obviously fixed...However,
wrestlers like Shawn Michaels, Owen Hart and Chris Benoit can put on matches
which are plausible, athletic, and completely believable...and it is that
sort of wrestler that I enjoy watching; those who don't insult my intelligence,
but allow me to watch and enjoy, without having to feel embarrassed when a
non-fan walks into the room and I'm watching wrestling...
The first match that really grabbed my attention and had me watching
over and over was the career match between Warrior and Randy Savage from WM VII...
good fun...and Hellwig got to call Sherri 'bitch' during the match as well : )
My all-time fave wrestling matches are, in no particular order:
Not that I'm a Shawn fan, or anything ; )
