- Call Me Irresponsible (JA)
During the summer, P.J. (the principal) has been calling Mark's house and leaving messages. Geneva thinks he should call him back, but Mark refuses - he doesn't want to call his boss during the summer. When he comes to school, he tries to avoid P.J., but he fails. P.J. tells him that she had been calling him to offer him the job as head coach. Mark gets very happy and excited, until P.J. tells him that since he didn't return her phone calls, she had to offer the job to someone else. If he suck up to the new head coach, maybe he can become assistant coach. After Mark's history class, coach Corley comes into the classroom and asks him for advice and offers him the job as assistant coach, but Mark declines. Later coach Corley comes by the house and he and Mark decides that Mark is just going to come by the gym on Monday.
- My Bodyguard (JA)
Mark discovers that Nicole is up in the middle of the night doing another kid's homework. His name is Scott Farcus. Nicole says that she should just say no to him. Nicole promises - she doesn't want Mark to tell her mother because she would just become like crazy aunt Eunetta. It didn't work very well. Nicole tells Mark that he took her lunch and sold it back to her. Therefore, Mark invites Tyler over. He tells Tyler about Scott Farcus and asks Tyler to stand up to Scott and tell him to leave Nicole alone. Tyler tries to get away, but Mark catches him. He shows Tyler how behave like a tough guy and give him his sun-glasses so he can be really tough. Tyler says he will do it.
The next day, Tyler is rather angry with Mark. Scott broke the glasses and got Tyler to do his spelling homework. Nicole tell her mother about what Scott's been doing to her. In school, Geneva makes a big scene when she's angry with Mark because he didn't tell Nicole to come to her. She says she's going down to the school to show that kid. Meanwhile, Tyler says bad thing about Scott when he's behind him. Just when Scott's about to beat Tyler up, Mark arrives. Mark warns them that Geneva is coming over. He tries to tell Scott off, but he doesn't succeed. Then Geneva arrives and start screaming like aunt Eunetta. Scott runs away scared. Nicole promises to come to her when there's a problem.
In this episode, Vanessa took care of her boss's orchid, since she thought that would get her cloder to him, who was in the middle of a divorce. Mark and Geneva thought the plant was as good as dead, but Vanessa took so good care of it that she got to take care of all his plants and her boss got back together with his wife.
- Between Friends (JA)
Geneva has bought a desk for Nicole, which Mark is supposed to put together. But Mark's old friend from college, Steve, comes by to visit him. He's a sports columnist fot the Tribune. They go to Dirty Burgers to eat and talk about old memories. They both start to hit on the waitress. They are to go to the Warriors game that night, but when the waitress, Charlene, calls, they start to fight about old girlsfriends and Steve decides to going to the game with Charlene instead of Mark. But Mark phones and cancels Steve's tickets. Geneva tells Mark to call Steve and try to work things out. After some trouble and misunderstandings between Mark and Vanessa, Steve comes over to get his cellular phone, which he had forgot at Mark's. They appologize to each other. In this episode, Vanessa tried to get a job in a number of different ways. At last, she manages to get one, answering the phones, at a doctor's office. The desk was put together. Geneva lost her bet to Nicole that Mark wouldn't manage to do that. When they had left the room, Steve comes to visit and want money from Mark for putting the desk together, AND for the long-distance calls mark had made on his cellular phone.
- He Said, She Said (JA)
The video store has told Geneva that she hasn't returned a "Mrs Doubtfire" tape. Therefore, she has been banned from the store. Geneva says she knows she has returned them and she's going to show them. Vanessa has been out shopping with a woman from her carpool. She's been driving for a long time since Vanessa's car is in the shop. Vanessa brings her to the house and Mark starts to hit on her. When she's left, Vanessa tells Mark not to date her, since she wants to stay in the carpool. The next day, Mark asks her out on a date. After their date, Mark tells Vanessa and Geneva that it didn't work out. The next day, she comes over and leave a gift for Mark. Vanessa gets angry with Mark. Geneva and Vanessa finds out that he had been very unclear when he told her it was over. He agrees to let her down easy and return all the gifts. He talks with Steve about women. Then he breaks up with the woman in a café. She gets very sad and starts to cry when she gets the gifts back. Vanessa is excluded from the carpool. Geneva writes a letter to a friend from High School who is a senator. When she's mailed the letter, Mark tells her that the kids have found the tape. Geneva, Nicole and Tyler go to get the letter out of the mailbox.
- Matinee (JA)
Nicole wants to go to the movies and watch the Porpoise princess during the week-end. Geneva promises to take her. In school, it's home-coming and the teachers sign up for different committees. Mark tells Geneva to sign up for the decorations committee because they just unpack the decorations. When Mark's going to do the same, P.J. tells him he can't be in the same committee as last year. Mark signs up for "campus violence" instead. But it doesn't turn out as the thought it would. The chairman of the decorations committee decides they will make penguins (the school mascot) instead. Geneva is stuck at home all week-end making penguins. In "campus violence", the teachers start to fight and they get the week-end off.
Mark says he'll take Nicole to the movies instead of Geneva. When they are to leave, Nicole says she's bringing five other kids and there's no time to argue. Mark buys food, drinks and souvenirs for all the kids. He even buys Nicole the Porpoise princess ring for 15 bucks. Mark meets a young pretty mother whom he tries to hit on. He acts the role of a young loving father to impress her. Inside the theatre, Tyler joins them. Mark and Tyler change places. A big, fat guy sits down in front of Tyler. mark and Tyler have to change places again. Nicole get stuck in the chair, she loses her ring and Mark spills the young mother's soda all over her. He also spills soda all over the fat guy and he says he'll be waiting for Mark outside. Geneva has got Vanessa to help her make the penguins. The drive home with all the kids was like a nightmare.
- Mo' Money (JA)
Mark finds out Tyler's dad sells vending machines. Mark says he wants to buy one. Since Tyler's dad doesn't handle small potatoes like Mark, so Tyler handles the deal. Vanessa tries to get a ride with Mark and Geneva. She refuses to take the bus after a terrible experience when she was eight. Mark puts the machine in the school. Geneva reminds Mark that P.J. doesn't allow teachers to conduct business in the school. He tries to get everybody to buy from his machine. When P.J. tries it, it doesn't give her anything. When she calls the service number, it leads to Mark's peeper. Mark is beside her, but he manages to get out of that one. He later phones P.J. pretending to be the service man. He even pretends to hit on her. Later, in the evening, P.J. catches Mark, emptying and refilling the wending machine. He tells her he was robbing the machine. He can't help it because of a terrible childhood experience and puts on a great act. P.J. doesn't buy it. At first she's going to fire him, but she changes her mind and says he can stay and all teachers will get a part of the money.
Geneva had convinced Vanessa to take the bus. She promised her nothing bad would happen. That evening Mark and Geneva find out that the bus Vanessa was on have been hi-jacked and she's in an other city. When they listen to her on the news she swear she will never get on a bus again.

- House Guest (KA)
P.J. and her mpther have had a fight and Geneva has invited her to stay with them, but Mark thinks she should stay in a hotel. Later on, P.J. is ruining everybody's lives by taking over the kitchen, messing up Vanessa's date and her dog (Monster is even worse.
- My Achy Breaky Back (JA)
Mark has hurt his back. He can hardly walk and he has a job interview for a coaching job at a unviersity. He tries to get another appointment but it's impossible. Nicole buys her mother a really old and worn out armchair. Both Vanessa and Geneva want to get rid of it, but Geneva can't tell tha to Nicole. Mark can't make it to the interview in the kind of condition his is now. Vanessa offers him to try the physical therapy machine at her work. Since Vanessa operates the machine for free, Mark lets her perform the treatment. Mark feels like a new man when the therapy is finished. But the next day at breakfast, he starts getting muscle spasms, which make him kick all the food off the table.
He decides to go to the interview anyway. In the beginning it seems like he has a good shot at the job. But then he starts getting spasms. When the interviewer is out of the room he kicks all the things off his desk. He says it was an earthquake. He does a number of strange moves and then he throws the man's trophy out the window and it lands on the top of his car. He doesn't get the job.

Vanessa finds the man of her dreams and discovers he has lied to her regarding his financial status.

- Coach (JA)
The basket-ball team has just won their tenth game in a row, when Coach Corley declares that he resigns. Mark becomes the new head coach. The next team they are to meet is also undefeated. They lose the game. Mark starts to think that he just don't have what it takes to be a winning coach. Mark has a little chat with coach Corley. They win their next game after Mark has told Earvin to get down on his knees and bark like dog in the last minute.
Geneva has fallen in love with Ken, who is a delivery man. That's why she has to orders a lot of weird kitchen gadgets to get him to come over. Vanessa finds Geneva pathetic. She agrees to help her. Vanessa's plan is for Nicole to spill lemonade on Ken and Geneva to tell him to come in and take off his pants. But Ken is off that day. When the doorbell rings, Nicole opens and spills lemonade on a woman. Later, Ken comes over. But they both are so pathetic that Vanessa tells them exactly what to do.
- One is the Loneliest Number (JA)
George tells Mark that he and the boys are going to see George Clinton & the P Funk All Stars on Saturday. Mark tells him to count him in although he usually get together with Denise on Saturdays. Denise gets a little upset when Mark tells her that he won't see her on Saturday nor Sunday. She wants him to come to a party on a boat. Mark realises that Denise is controlling his life too much. Later when Mark is to break up with her, Denise breaks up with him first.
The concert doesn't go off very well for them. They have bad seats and useless back-stage passes. Later at home Mark sits talking to Nicole, when he realises that he really loves Denise. He rushes to the boat. But the boat is leaving and Mark jumps into the water when he tries to get on board. They get back together.
Nicole and Tyler are selling candy bars. Tyler sells some to Geneva and Mark. Then Nicole wants them to buy some too. Then Nicole sells to the guests at Tyler's parents' party. Nicole and Tyler become enemies. But Geneva convinces them to work together and cooperate instead. The one who sells the most candy bars wins a CD player. Geneva is forced to buy a lot of chocolate bars. But Tyler and Nicole don't win the CD player. They win a box of chocolate bars. Mark makes them give one to Geneva, who is forced to eat it.
- True Lies (PS & JA)
When Mark refuses to take little Nicole to the circus, she catches him in an outrageous lie. Mark is grounded by Nicole and he has to stay in his room for the whole week-end. But then he calls Denise and tries to sneak out by climbing out through the window.

- Down in the Dumps (TB)
Mark and Vanessa are playing the Lottery Geneva tells them a system she learned from her grandmother on how to win the lottery they buy into and wins Vanessa is helping Eric with his charity drive win she gives Marks suit shirt with the winning ticket inside Marks screams and yells and tells her to get it back Vanessa calls the place only to find out that they threw his shirt away in the dumpster. So Mark and Vanessa goes down the city dump and they jump in tthe dump to look for the ticket they don't find it the trash truck comes and dumps Mark and Vanessa inside. They get home and start a fuss Geneva asks what happen and Mark tells her that Vanessa gave his shirt to a charity and they threw it away and they went down to the dump and couldn't
find the ticket. Nicole and Geneva beleives them beacuse they smell like trash when they sat down Vanessa saw the ticket on Mark's shoe they get it on read it and a number is wrong Mark finds out that Vanessa lied about her age on the ticket he gets so mad he starts chasing her around the house.
- Hero (PS)
Mark goes to the ATM to withdraw some money. He and another woman gets held up by a robber and the woman hits the man and saves the day. The woman leaves and by the public, press and police that get to the scene, Mark is declared a Hero!
Mark feels bad as numerous fame is offered to Mark. Tyler and Nicole charge admission to see Mark, Mark gets some television interviews, and the most important of all, a ceremony outside the ATM to commemorate the HERO. Mark gets caught up with the excitement by showing the high school faculty how to defend
yourself even using Earvin as the robber. The ceremony has come and after all the medals have been awarded, Mark tells the truth.
Everyone thinks Mark is a fake and all the medals, awards, etc. are pulled off of him. Now, Mark has to try to find the woman and convince the city to give her the fame and fortune.
- Here Comes the Groom (PS)
P.J. is feeling lonely. The man who left P.J. at the altar has again asked her to marry him. P.J. says yes and they plan to have the wedding at Mark's house.
Everyone gets ready for the wedding. Unfortunatly, Mark sees the
groom kissing another woman outside the house. Mark is still trying to get money for the P.E. department at the school so he must decide if she should tell P.J. that he caught the groom kissing another woman.
The big day finally comes. Geneva is playing the piano and the groom is late. P.J. gets mad. Finally he shows up not because of cold feet but because of a car problem. Mark then interrupts the
weeding to tell P.J. about the groom and the other woman. Throughout the ceremony, Geneva keeps on playing "Here Comes the Bride" because P.J. walks with Mark down the aisle too many times. Now P.J. knows what happend to the groom. Can the wedding go on?
- The Matchmaker (JA)
Mark and Geneva's aunt Eunetta come to visit. She knows "frenology". That means she can feel a person's personality from the shape of his head. She feels both Mark's and Vanessa's heads. She tells them that they are the perfect match.
Both Mark and Vanessa happen to break up with their girlfriend/boyfriend. Later, Mark needs somebody to take to a concert so he asks Vanessa. Mark tells the others that it's not a date. After the concert they get stuck in an elevator. They decide to kiss to see if they have feelings for eachother. They say they didn't feel anything, when actually they did.
- Guys' Night Out
Geneva thinks Ken is to shy and she wants Mark to help him loosen up. He manages to convince Mark to invite Ken when he and the guys are going on their guys' night out.

- High Hopes (JH)
Geneva is after P.J. to find out about her position in the school.
Vanessa says yes to marriage and living in New Guinea.
Mark and Earvin are discouraged about their chances of winning the state championship game when two of their best players are injured. All hope is lost until a wandering transfer student looking for the library runs into Mark. To Mark's delight, the transfer student happens to be a seven footer. Mark is dismayed when he tries him out on the basketball court and finds out that "Elmo" has never played basketball in his life. Mark puts Elmo on the team anyway just to scare the other team with his enormous height. Things are bleak during the game and get worse when Mark is left with only four players due to foul trouble. Mark is having trouble deciding whether to put Elmo in the game or not when Elmo blurts out that "Only if this was volleyball coach! I'm really good at that!" This gives Mark an idea. Mark has Earvin and all the other players lob the ball high above the rim for Elmo to spike the ball in. His idea works, and Elmo wins the game for them.
Mark is overwhelmed when he finds out after the game that Georgetown wants him to be an assistant coach which is Mark's dream.
Episode ends as Vanessa and Mark leave for what seems to be for good, but we won't know until next season. To be continued...
