Recently confirmed - the Fox Interactive Adventure CD-Rom (for Windows 95 and Macintosh) is likely to be released some time in 1997 and will star both Gillian and David in an all-new X-Files story, with never before seen footage of the pair. According to John Richmond- head of entertainment at FOX:
"We are continuing to raise the standard for interactive entertainment with Gillian and David appearing in the X-Files title. In producing all-original footage for the title, X-philes and interactive gamers will have a new and intensely realistic way to explore the mysteries of the paranormal world."
Using HyperBole Studios' VirtualCinema technology you can play the main character in the X-Files adventure:
"The VirtualCinema engine measures the responses and activities of the player and applies them back to the original storyline. With the VirtualCinema software and story-driven interactivity, we are able to capture the mysterious X-Files style and provide players with a unique and authentic interactive experience."
With the combination of the new storyline and the video footage taken especially for the adventure, the player can immerse themselves in the X-Files world effectively joining with Mulder and Scully to investigate their latest case. As they move around the X-Files owrld they must explore, enquire and investigate to solve the case.
Although no members of the public have, as yet, tested the game I am sure that with the technology and imagination of the Fox interactive team- and the indefatigable perfectionism of Chris Carter behind them- the X-Files adventure is soon to be playing on the computers of self-respecting X-Philes everywhere!
