  • Star Wars 'Connections'
Crowded at a large auditorium, audience at the San Diego Comic-Con International, caught an exclusive glimpse of Episode II last week.
The following is a report taken from jedinet.com:
Jango Fett
Picture from: starwars.com

Sansweet introduced the film saying that its takes place 10 years after TPM. Sansweet compared the movie to ESB, a dark feel. He also emphasized that the movie has adult characters, with adult themes. He described Anakin as a Rebel and wants to be the best at what he does. That there will be a lot of our questions answered and a lot of new questions spawned. He said that the movie itself will have a cliffhanger ending

The beginning of the film showed the Jedi Fighter and how its was modeled directly after the Star Destroyers of the OT, and the symbol of the Empire in the OT seems to be a variation of the symbol of the old republic. Lucas said in the film that Episode II will connect a lot more the OT then TPM did, Such as boxy technology and less advanced looking ships.

They showed clips of the movie with Duel Of the Fates playing in the background, shots of Obi-wan and Anakin fighting invisible enemies (because CGI hasn't been done yet)

I caught a glimpse of Bail Organas costume, it looked exactly like Palpys costume from the issue of INSIDER that came out a few months ago, he was called Viceroy Organa, (believe it or not) in the film

One of the Coolest clips that was showed was of Obi-wan lecturing Anakin outside of the "nightclub" on Coruscant, Obi hands Anakins lightsaber to him and Obi doesn't look happy, Anakin looked like a lectured child from his Masters words. We saw the inside of the nightclub, looked very much like the Cantina in ANH but very Rave looking background.

We saw Jango in full costume, Sliver and Blue armor. He looked cool but only a glimpse

But the highlight of the entire film was the massive amounts of Jedi in a circle in what appeared to be an Arena (like the rumors) Eth Koth, Ki Adi Mundi, Mace Windu and tons of other Jedi, I have never seen. Mostly Humans with Braveheart like haircuts and ponytails in typical Jedi Uniforms. ANAKINS SABER IS BLUE!!!!! And looks like Vader's handle!!!!(Very much the saber Obi gives Luke in ANH)

They showed a Spanish villa where they filmed Amidala's home, very beautiful looking lake and plant life.

We also has the Lars homestead (no signs of Shmi, or Watto in the film though) We saw Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru in full costume.

Lucas said from his own lips in the Film that he was filming one scene for Episode III in Tunisia only because he said that he didn't want to go back to the heat to film anymore.

And said that's all we are going to hear about Episode III

There was nothing of Count Dooku, or any other Sith lords in the preview, (I was very disappointed with that) when the film was over the kid next to me named Mike screamed "PLAY IT AGAIN"

Sansweet heard this and asked the crowd "Do you want to see it again?" and everyone went nuts, and it was played one more time.

After the encore presentation of "Connections" questions from fans where asked. Sansweet said that JarJar is only in the movie for about 5 min. He confirmed that Darth Maul would no longer be in any of the new films. He gave no hint on a title. He also said there are no plans for DVD releases of the OT, and Tarkin will not appear in this film.

  • Huge Spoiler: More Dialog
Here are more lines from the dialog posted last week. This comes from theforce.net's forum.

DAR WAC: The loyalist committee has arrived, my Lord.
PALPATINE: Send them in.

They all stand as SENATOR AMIDALA, CAPTAIN TYPHO, JAR JAR, MAS AMEDDA, DORME, and SENATORS BAIL ORGANA, LUMINARA UNDULI, HOROX RYYDER enter the office. YODA and MACE WINDU move to great the SENATOR, YODA taps AMIDALA with his cane.

YODA: With you the Force is strong, young Senator. To see you alive brings warm feelings to my heart.
PADME: Thank you, Master Yoda. Do you have any idea who was behind the attack?

MACE WINDU: Our intelligence points to disgruntled spice miners, on the moons of Naboo.

PADME: I don't wish to disagree but I think that Count Dooku was behind it.

There is a stir of suprise.

MACE WINDU: You know, M'Lady, Count Dooku was once a Jedi. He wouldn't assassinate anyone, it is not in his character.
KI-ADI-MUNDI: He is a political idealist, not a murderer.
PALPATINE: Count Dooku has always avoided any kind of conflict. It appears he has no desire to start a war. Why would he kill you? To what end?
PADMÉ: I don't know, but everything in my being tells me he was behind it...
YODA: In dark times nothing is what it appears to be, but the fact remains Senator, in grave danger you are.

PALPATINE stands, walks to the window, and look out at the city.

  • Spoiler: Mace Windu and Ki-Adi Mundi Dialog
    Today aldera.net's source came up with a couple lines of dialogue shared at meeting on Coruscant early in Episode II;

MACE WINDU: You know, M'Lady, Count Dooku was once a Jedi. He wouldn't assassinate anyone, it's not in his character.
