Background
Info III (Alderaan) Alderaan is one of the oldest planets in the galaxy. It is pretty much the opposite of Tatooine: a world of unspoiled beauty, with these flying things that people ride in called Thrantas (also seen on Bespin), Glimmerfish (fish with a very metallic corona), cities built into canyon crevasses and in lakes. Artists planted seeds on the plains so that when one flew over, it appeared as a picture. And then there's the Castle Lands, petrified mounds of dirt left by an ancient civilization called the Killiks. The capital, Aldera City, is home to House Organa, and the renowned Alderaan University. Apparently the planet played an enormous part in the Clone Wars, since Bail Organa had it demilitarized afterward. Below is a picture of Alderaan.
