All the world is a hard drive and we are merely bits!

Welcome to your world!

In these days of advanced
technology and rapid technological advancement, the world we live in is changing into a
place full of new and innovative ways to communicate and socialize. The Internet and
computers are a large part of this change and they will continue to be so far into the
future. |
|
The more we use computers to
interact, the more our lives begin to take the form of the bits of information that they
so deftly, and sometimes not so deftly, handle. So herein lies the story of the
bits, a world not too far removed from our own.*L* |
|
|
Once upon a time(all good stories start this way*L*), there was a
world called earth, and in this world lived little lifeforms called bits. Now these
bits were always busy running around taking care of their little bit lives and such.
They rarely concerned themselves with what the other bits were doing or what they were
doing themselves. They were just happy hopping around being bits. Sometimes
bits would bump into other bits and they would get together and form words. Still
others were just happy as single bits.
Now these little bits were the happiest little things you ever saw. They had a rich
culture and history. One of the most prominent bits in their history was Christopher
Columbit. Now relegated to the recyle bin, he discovered long ago that the bit world
was indeed flat, but yet, was circular.
Having this great discovery in mind, the bits divided their world in sectors and lived a
very happy bit life. But every now and again, some of the married bits would get
lost and unable to find each other. They would then go see a defragmenter to work
out their problems and get back together in their little bit house.
Still other bits would go bad and do terrible things, those bits and their homes would be
exposed to a scandisker, and if found guilty, they would be removed from the little bit
society and their homes were demolished. Once their homes had been removed, no other
bits could build a home there for fear of it happening again.
Now even though the bits deny it, there were other bits that came to their world from
other worlds and infected the native bits with deadly viruses. A X-bit team was
formed to deal with these infectious bits and remove them. The adventures of these
bits was fictionalized and now is the most popular bit TV program on the planet and is
called the X-bits!

Showbitness is a big part of bit life, because, there
is no bitness like showbitness like no bitness I know. Besides watching
telebition with bit actors in bit roles, some bits are mubiticians and play the bitar.
Other than showbitness, the bits have a wide varitey of occubitions.
Some work at McBits and fry Bitmacs, and some work at Bits R US. There are
bitectives who investigate bad bits. One of the most famous cases they have dealt
with concerned O. J. Bitson, but the jury had to find him not bitty because the glove
didn't bit.
There are bits that love to work with numbits. They are called accountbits and
mathbiticians. Some bits even do bithair, they are called biticians.
The bits even have a medibit profession. There are emergency response bits called
parbitics. And sadly, when a bit expires, they are listed in the obituary for all
their bit friends to see.
Like the medibits, other bits pursue a higher edubition and become execubits. They
do little bit bitness and make deals with other bits. They even have bits that work
for them that are called secbitaries.
To run their governbit, the bits have polibiticians. Elecbited by the popubition,
they serve to better the bit world. Do they? The head of this bitreaucracy is
the presibit and that bit lives in the bit house. Though some have gotten in trouble
and have come close to living in the penitebitiary.
Even though most polibitions are thought of as bad bits. There have been some that
have inspired the bits throughout bitory. |
...and that governbit of the bits, by the bits, for
the bits, shall not perish from this earth.

After all that, now we have some bitory about the bits and some defibitions for the
bits. The bits really don't mind a bit being defined or examined. They only
hope that they can offer us a little bit of insight to our defibition when we look over
theirs. As we look at the bits though, we should really take a bit of a step back
and reflect on the bits and their lives and how our lives mirror theirs. It never
hurts a bit to take some time and look at your world bit x bit.
