Hello, everyone, I'm Rachel, one of the co-authors of the mammoth Power Rangers saga "Between the Lines." Let me first say that this entire experience was fantastic! Firstly, I became good friends with three great girls from all over North America! From them, I learned how to work within a group, and how everyone's talents and weaknesses balance out, making a collaborated piece truly a work of art. I also believe I've learned some writing skills from Laura, Ellen, and Nan, and those will help me continue
to grow as an author.
Okay, a little bit about yours truly... I'm from New Jersey (although I go to school in Philadelphia), I have two parents (divorced), a younger sister Renee (14) and a younger sister Ryan (13). I spend my time reading fanfics, writing fanfics (mostly of Power Rangers, but I did create my own team of super heroes called the Spectrum Force), surfing the web, watching television, and eating. Oh yeah, and I study and go to class too :^).
I'll be the first to admit that I'm obsessed with Power Rangers. Yes, I'm nearly two decades old, but that doesn't detract from the fact that I love it! The characters are endearing (even Justin), the battles are fun, and overall, its just so charming! I think that's what makes it one of my favorite television shows.
In case you're curious, I've been writing fanfics since Tommy (one of my favorites) left the show. I didn't realize I wasn't the only one to actually sit down and write out Power Rangers stories (without being paid, of course) until one afternoon about a year ago, when I decided to surf the web. I looked up "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" on Webcrawler, and *POOF*-- there were thousands of documents listed! I looked at a few of them, and I was inspired. It helped me realize I'm not the only person above eight to watch that show, and actually care when a veteran ranger
leaves, and a new ranger comes aboard. So, I spent one afternoon typing up the first story I had written on paper, and I sent it to both Manny's Morphin Grid and Kittie's Fanfic Shoppe. That was the beginning. This webpage, and my own fanfic page Rachel's Imagination", are the culmination of one young woman's crazy search for some way to make Angel Grove, a fictional city plagued by siege but united in the bonds of friendship and love, a little more real.
