Potsie finds happy days as TV director
     If somebody in a TV studio yells, "Sit on it, Potsie!" nowadays, they mean a director's chair.
     Anson Williams, who payed Ron Howard's wimpy friend Potsie on "Happy Days," has followed in Howard's footsteps, switching from acting to behind the camera.
     Williams most recent directing credits include episodes of "Melrose Place," "Love Boat: The Next Wave" and "The Net." He credits Howard, who has become a top-flight feature film director, with helping him develop a less-is-more directing style.
     "Ron Howard told me it took him a long time to learn, you don't have to talk a lot to direct," Williams said. "If it works, leave it alone. Talk when something's absolutely wrong. Just massage a little bit what's right."
