"Charmed" star Alyssa Milano made her New Year's resolution come true on the first day of 1999 - by marrying a real Zero in a secret ceremony!
The 26-year-old beauty exchanged vows with chrome-domed rocker Cinjun Tate, lead singer of the rock band Remy Zero, in an intimate New Year's Day ceremony at the beautiful Rosewood Plantation house in St. Amant, La., 50 miles northwest of New Orleans.
"Alyssa wanted to start off 1999 just right, and she thought this was the perfect way to do it," said an insider.
Alyssa and her husband shared the day with "Charmed" co-stars Shannen Doherty and Holly Marie Combs, as bridesmaids, and about 40 of the couple's closest friends and family. Alyssa rented the mansion for the entire weekend.
"She adores plantation homes, and Rosewood was built from the remnants of 40 old Lotusiana mansions," said the insider.
Alyssa wanted to keep the wedding cozy.
"Alyssa has grown up in Hollywood and knows that if she wanted to have an intimate wedding, she would have to go to a place that wasn't so public," one source explained. "Otherwise all of Hollywood would have wanted an invitation."
In fact, some of the couple's closest friends were in the dark about the happy event.
Guests weren't told what day or time the wedding was going to be until the last minute, the source revealed.
Meanwhile, Alyssa turned Rosewood Plantation into a beautiful wedding hideaway.
The former "Who's the Boss?" star had the mansion decorated in an enchanted forest theme for the wedding. Dried grapevines and fresh sunflowers were draped over staircases, doors, mantlepieces and around a bridal arch.
The bride - in a clingy white silk gown - made her entrance into the wedding area down a long staircase from the upper floor where she and Cinjun had spent New Year's Eve in a room dubbed the Baroness Michelle suite.
Alyssa and Cinjun, 25, exchanged traditional vows before a justice of the peace as the groom slipped a gorgeous pear-shaped diamond ring with a sapphire on each side on the bride's finger. It is the first marriage for both of them.
Alyssa was lovingly holding Cinjun's hands as she said her vows, but Shannen, one of her bridesmaids, was off to the side, giggling," said another insider.
The newlyweds danced their first dance together, Louisiana style, twirling to the fiddle and accordion sounds of Deja Vu, a local Cajun band.
"But Shannen spent the whole time at the reception sitting away from the guests, smoking and looking totally bored," said the insider. "She danced only once - with Holly."
Alyssa and Cinjun spent the night at the exclusive $585-a-day-room Audubon Cottages in New Orleans' bawdy French Quarter.
On January 2, the couple jetted off to a Caribbean honeymoon on the island of St. Maarten.
