From the October 5th National Enquirer:

Sparks fly as Heather joins 'Spin City'

FAST-TALKING MICHAEL J. FOX has finally met his match! As the wily mayor's assistant on ABC's "Spin City," Fox has begun butting egos with another fox - Heather Locklear. And The ENQUIRER has a fascinating sneak preview of how their zany on-camera roughhousing will turn to romance.
As the show's fourth season progresses, viewers will roar with laughter at the conniving tricks and sexual chemistry between Michael and ultra-shrewd mayor's office newcomer Caitlin Moore, played by sultry Heather.
"The show has a completely new dynamic with Heather aboard - it's being transformed into a crackling good romantic comedy," disclosed an insider.
"And, as in all good TV romances - the principals hate each other at first."
"But the mayor's office battle of wits eventually leads to passion."
Heather plays a shrewd, hard-driving political operative hired to manage the senatorial campaign of Mayor Winston (Barry Bostwick).
And the former mean queen of "Melrose Place" turns out to have a remarkable touch for comedy. "She's a natural comedienne," a delighted Michael told a pal. "She really knows how to deliver a punch line. I had no idea Heather was so funny!"
Onscreen, Fox hires Caitlin as the mayor's new protégé because he thinks she's a nonthreatening dimwit - but, boy is he wrong! As Caitlin kicks the mayor's senatorial campaign into high gear, it's clear she knows what she's doing - and she gets under Michael's skin.
"The twosome engage in all sorts of one-upmanship and practical jokes against one another," revealed the insider. "She constantly makes fun of his height and manic ways. The two soon prove worthy adversaries."
As the spin doctor grows to appreciate Caitlin's wit, his head spins and sexual tension mounts between the pair.
"Ultimately, the raging feud between the two passionate politicos leads to romance," disclosed the insider.
Happily, both Michael and Heather have hit it off in real life and are already fast friends.
A thrilled Michael told a source: "Heather is the perfect counterpoint to my character, who's so used to having everything go his way in love and business. She's a great addition to the show!"

The headline was deceiving. I thought she'd be leaving Richie and he'd be leaving Tracy. But I guess, quoting Michael in the season premiere, "this isn't a cheesy soap opera."
