Hi guys:
The show was a little bit better this week. But if it doesn't get a lot better, I'm gonna start watching Dilbert. At a staff meeting discussing sexual harassment at the hospital, Dr. Visconti was told he was being watched because of his habit of dating interns. That Visconti is more studly than he appears to be. Too bad Lexi excluded doctors from her search for Mr. Right. Peter went to Oakhurst to get he scoop on Eve killing Kent. While doing some research in the library, the librarian gave Peter the inside info but suddenly clammed up when Peter asked for the address of Kent's house. She said she couldn't give out that information. She realized she was a librarian and providing information is the last thing she would want to do. Ryan saw Megan arrive home from one of her dates. Still not knowing she's screening guys for Lexi and thinking the guy was a Sterling Conway client, he asked her what kind of client takes her home on a motorcycle. I'm wondering how she sat on the motorcycle with the dress she had on. No thanks to the librarian, Peter found Kent's house. There was a big party going on. Fortunately, the town hospital just happened to get a new doctor and Kent's mom mistook Peter for him and invited him in. Unfortunately, Kent's dad had just met the real new doctor. When it was learned that Peter was Eve's husband, the sheriff, who just happened to be there, escorted Peter out. At the hospital, Jane saw Nurse Audrey flirt with Michael. Shades of Kimberly. Jane seemed a bit distressed. A friend of Eve's went to Peter's motel room. He told him the truth about how Kent bragged he was going to rape Amanda and Eve was just trying to help her. He didn't testify on Eve's behalf because his dad worked for Kent's dad. Eve must have had a lousy lawyer. All he had to do was subpeona the guy and he would have had to testify. Rikki G. went to the apartment complex to give Kyle a bag of drugs. Ryan told him Kyle wasn't there, so Rikki gave the bag to Ryan. He told him not to look in the bag. Of course, we all know he will. Anyway, why didn't Rikki look for Kyle at the club? If he's not at The Place, he's sure to be at the club. Peter went to the scene of the crime. Knowing he would be there, Eve showed up. Knowing they would be there, the sheriff showed up. It was quite a show of force. Three squad cars. The sheriff threatened to arrest them for trespassing, a serious offense. I guess that's why he needed all that backup. But Peter stood up to the sheriff and defended Eve's actions from 15 years ago. They left a happy couple again. Ryan confronted Kyle about the drugs. He wished their dad was there to see his war hero son strung out. Be careful what you wish for... Disgusted with himself, Kyle took the drugs and threw them in the toilet. They looked like Good'n'Fruity candy. And there aren't any drugs that big that you can catch a buzz from. In Peter's absence, Michael was made acting Chief of Staff. He took the opportunity to name a new head floor nurse. Much to the chagrin of Nurse Audrey, he appointed Nurse Amy. You wouldn't think that an acting Chief of Staff would have the authority to do something like that. And, personally, I would prefer Nurse Audrey for "head" nurse. Ryan went to Lexi's office to talk about Megan. Which led to the line of the week. When she asked whether they were having sexual problems, he responded with, "We're having sexual problems as in no sex at all." Definite problem. A frequently recurring one for me too. Peter told Amanda that he learned the truth about Eve. He was upset at Amanda for not doing more to help her. She said she did all she could, that she testified on her behalf. Well, maybe she could have used some of her family's money to hire a competent attorney. One that would have petitioned to hold the trial out of town, where Kent's dad didn't have such a great sphere of influence. Heck, I would have been a better lawyer and the only thing I know about law is what I learned from Ally McBeal. Ryan finally asked Megan whether she was hooking again. She said no. He inadvertantly said he loved her. She said she loved him too and then told him the whole story about how she's screening men for Lexi. So to get a woman to tell you what you want to know, all you have to do is say you love her? I must make a note of that. Nurse Audrey interrupted a meeting about the Children's Fund to accuse Michael of sexual harassment. She said he promised her the head floor nurse position in exchange for sex. His response was he never had sexual relations with that woman, a la Clinton. But he didn't do the finger wag. It's not as convincing without the finger wag. And you know the show is in pretty sad shape when they have to borrow from reality to enhance its fantasy. After swearing that she'll never perform again with Rikki's band, Eve performed with them again. And the song was just as horrid as the last one. She wore a leopard print blouse that must have been made from Amanda's sheets. Lexi smugly told Peter she was right about Eve. Peter apologized and bought her a drink. She ordered a Sex on the Beach, a vodka-based concoction which frequently leads to sex on the beach. That's what I've been told. You know, sexual problems. Peter's reaction to her order was hilarious. I would have liked to have seen the look on his face if she asked for a Screaming Orgasm. Kyle and Amanda kissed and made up. He moved back in and another couple was happily reunited... for now. That's it for this week. No show next week. The show is pre-empted for the TV Guide Awards. The Place was nominated for Favorite Drama Series, Heather was nominated for Favorite Actress in a Drama and Amanda was nominated for Scariest Villian. Check out my site for these new stories: Alyssa Milano bared her boobs again. The Globe published pictures of her going topless on her Caribbean honeymoon. The Globe was immediately sued by Alyssa's mom. In last week's Soap Opera Digest, Stephanie Cameron talked more about her role as Nurse Audrey. She said she'll be working a lot in lingerie. Schwing! Pretty excellent! This week's SOD offered some spoilers for the February sweeps. Peter and Amanda are drawn closer - again, Michael and Jane are drawn apart - again, and someone almost dies - again.
