William Devane and Rob Estes are getting ready to play the lead character in "The Man Who Used to Be Me," a Fox Family Channel original movie, sources said Thursday.
     The telefilm tells the story of a father, played by Devane, who gets murdered. He then travels back in time to find out who killed him. He sees his entire past and witnesses the series of events that led to his murder. Estes is in negotiations to play the younger Devane, whom Devane meets in the past.
     Veteran producer Lance H. Robbins ("The New Addams Family," "Au Pair") and Bruce Nash ("World's Most Amazing Videos") are exec producing, Jeff Woolnough ("Nightworld: Lost Souls") wrote the script and Chris Bremble ("The Clock") will direct. Shooting is scheduled to begin Monday in Vancouver.
     Devane's long list of credits include the feature "Payback" and the TV series "Turks." He will next be seen in director Paul Verhoeven's feature "The Hollow Man." Devane is repped by Innovative Artists and manager Deborah Miller.
     Estes, who starred in "Melrose Place" and NBC's "Days of Our Lives" and "Suddenly Susan," is repped by ICM's Ron West and managed by Joan Green.
     Fox Family Channel declined comment.
