From the June Maxim:

GROVEL BEFORE
THE WB GIRLS

Let other television networks obsess over piddling matters like ratings and profits. The WB knows what we really want: plenty of gorgeous starlets casting spells, dusting vampires, and emoting like crazy in skimpy halter tops. In case you've somehow missed out on the prime-time treasures to be found on America's most nublie network, we've put together this easy-to-use televixen guide. Hell, you may forget that there are other channels stil out there.

Alyssa Milano
PRIME-TIME TEMPTATION: Hubba hubba, toil and trouble. As if we haven't been under her spell ever since Who's the Boss, 27-year-old Alyssa now uses her hex appeal to conjure up big ratings every week on Charmed as one of three sorceress sisters who can't seem to find any nice warlock boys.
BEYOND THE WB: Alyssa stars in the upcoming film Buying the Cow, about a guy who goes on a skirt-chasing binge after his girlfriend pressures him to get hitched. In real life, Alyssa is - abracadabra! - single again after her 11-month marriage to alterna-rocker Cinjun Tate recently vanished in a puff of smoke.
SECRET POWER: Charmed should do a special musical episode, considering that Brooklyn, NY-born Alyssa once performed for 40,000 screaming fans in Japan, where she was a pop star in the '80s. Spooky.

Garcelle Beauvais
PRIME-TIME TEMPTATION: As hotel receptionist Fancy Monroe on The Jamie Foxx Show, Garcelle avoided her leading man’s goofball pursuit for three seasons before surrendering. In real life they have also resisted temptation. “We made a pact that we won’t fool around until the show is over,” she says. “Now Jamie keeps joking that he’s going to cancel the series.”
BEYOND THE WB: Garcelle shared a water tower with Will Smith in Wild Wild West, a gig that required "wearing little more than a thong" for 12 hours.
ISLAND WHIRL: Born in Haiti, Garcelle moved with her family to Massachussetts at age 7. "Can you imagine?" she asks. "From the tropics to all the snow and ice? Plus, I'd never seen so many white people in one place in my life."

Charisma Carpenter
PRIME-TIME TEMPTATION: After three seasons of dispatching more fashion advice than she did demons, Charisma’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer character, Cordelia, has moved to L.A. to become an actress… and the sexy girl Friday for a vampire detective on the hit spin-off Angel. At least we know she can stay up all night.
BEYOND THE WB: After starting with a part on Malibu Shores and landing guest appearances on Baywatch and Pacific Blue, Charisma now has her first big role that doesn't require biweekly bikini waxings.
SIN CITY LIMITS: Charisma is quick to defend her hometown, Las Vegas, Nev. "People make it seem like I must have been a showgirl in kindergarten. It's ridiculous," she says, rolling her eyes. "Then again, my dad was a craps dealer."

Amy Smart
PRIME-TIME TEMPTATION: As fresh-faced coed Ruby on Felicity, Amy wasted no time in stealing the spotlight from mopey, hideously shorn Keri Russell—then stealing her smitten boyfriend to boot.
BEYOND THE WB: As a central figure in the NBC miniseries The 70s, Amy did the Me Decade right - by protesting against the Vietnam war at Kent State, stayin' alive as a drugged-out disco mama, and joining a freaky suicide cult. Apparently they cut the part where she blows the lid off the Watergate cover-up.
OH, BABY: Amy actually gets a kick out of donning the maternity clothes and prosthetic belly required to play her knocked-up Felicity character: "I've always known I wanted kids, but to actually wear this makes it conceivable. Actually, Amy, there are a few other steps.

Katie Holmes
PRIME-TIME TEMPTATION: As wholesomely hot Joey on the teen-targeted soap opera Dawson’s Creek, Katie once doted on Dawson’s massive forehead. Now she’s had a change of heart and pines for Pacey’s similarly endowed cranium.
BEYOND THE WB: On the big screen, 22-year-old Katies career is inextricably linked with that of Tobey Maguire; she blew off the young actor in the film debut, The Ice Storm, but she was considerably more affectionate toward him in this year's Wonder Boys.
CASTING COUCH FANTASY: Katie the Vampire Slayer? It almost happened: Holmes reportedly passed up the role that would make network neighbor Sarah Michelle Gellar a household name - so she could finish high school in a non-demon-infested learning environment.

Sarah Michelle Gellar
PRIME-TIME TEMPTATION: Having rid her high school of the unwanted undead, Sarah’s now staking out the campus of similarly infested Sunnydale University — and throwing down at the occasional frat party — on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
BEYOND THE WB: Her turn in Cruel Intentions, a Dangerous Liaisons remake for the Clearasil set, can be summed up in six wonderful little words: "I'll let you put it anywhere." Well, in that and her lingering lesbo kiss with Selma Blair.
THE SPORTING LIFE: Sarah, 23, is a fan of a Buffy drinking game in which viewers take a chug every time her bra strap can be seen. "Usually people get plastered," she says. "But would you rather me fight the vampire without a bra on?" Hey - we were told there would be no trick questions on this test!

Jaime Pressly
PRIME-TIME TEMPTATION: Jack & Jill is aimed straight at Chickville, but with Jaime as the dancer next door, we admit to lingering on our way to ESPN. “Audrey treats men the way men usually treat women: wham-bam thank you ma’am,” she says.
BEYOND THE WB: Jaime, 22, played a conniving starlet in recent TV movie Best Actress and a conniving, slutty teen in the cheesecake classic Poison Ivy: New Seduction. "In the original script, there were two nude scenes," she recalls. "When we started filming, suddenly there were, like, 20."
HANGIN' WITH JAIME: I love being around men because they're not prissy," she says. "I don't want to sit and talk about where I bought my shoes, you know?"

Leslie Bibb
PRIME-TIME TEMPTATION: On Popular, Leslie’s character may be the head cheerleader and queen of her high school’s in-crowd, but deep down she’s really a kindhearted person who just wants all the cliques to get along. In other words, she’s the girl who told you that you were “so sweet,” then gave it up for the Neanderthal football captain.
BEYOND THE WB: Though the thriller The Skulls arrived brain-dead, we prefer to remember Leslie as the hapless NBC tour guide unnerved by the talents of the Kielbasa Queen in the Howard Stern biopic Private Parts.
DIVA OR DEITY? Apparently, Leslie is still adjusting to her own newfound popularity. "Go worship God or Buddha or whatever," the 25-year old advises her fans, "but not me." If the goddess commands, we must obey.

Jessica Biel
PRIMETIME TEMPTATION: 7th Heaven is a family drama with uplifting themes, wholesome messages, and one sinfully hot preacher's daughter. Her goody-goody character may be more interested in basketball than in boys, but 18-year-old Biel is embracing an edgier image. "It's heaven to get a totally different role," she says. "It's cool to dress like a tramp, play a chippy."
BEYOND THE WB: In the upcoming feature film Summer Catch, Biel falls for a poor boy who dreams of becoming a baseball player. No word on whether she lets him steal third base.
BREEZY RIDER: Upon meeting Peter Fonda on the set of 1997's Ulee's Gold, Biel informed him that she was no Easy Rider fan: "After watching for 45 minutes, I said, 'I can't take this anymore.' I was so bored."

Another WB babe, Katherine Heigl of Roswell (looking very yummy), is the feature cover story. I highly recommend that you buy this issue.
