From the February 2nd Soap Opera Update:

Primetime February Sweeps Preview

Your favorite nighttime dramas are pulling out all the stops!

If it's February, it must be Valentine's Day - and "sweeps!" Every year at this time, the networks go whole-hog to prove to the advertisers that their shows are the ones everyone is watching. As a result, we viewers can expect over-the-top storylines and stunts galore, designed to lure us to the tube. Here's a look at primetime's hottest spots:

MELROSE PLACE: Trouble for Amanda
Amanda's desire to get pregnant and Kyle's presumed sterility (actually, he's not really) have led this couple into tumultuous times that will only get worse. Kyle may have convinced Amanda that he's off the booze and pills, but he hasn't yet dealt with the demons that drove him to his addictions in the first place. As a result, he plunges headfirst off the deep end.
Shooting off his mouth, Kyle spills the beans about Eve's murderous past, sending Peter on a mission to discover the truth. And don't look for it to be a happy Valentine's Day for Kyle and Amanda, as a tragic event at their new home leads to a forced separation between them. Rob Estes (Kyle) directs this emotional episode.
With Kyle out of the picture, Amanda is faced with all sorts of problems and finds herself dealing with Kyle's New York drug connection, Ricky G., who makes his presence known in a dangerous way. In need of help, Amanda once again turns to Peter as a friend, but her actions are misinterpreted by those around her.
"Eve's jealousy gets the best of her, and she sets in motion a dangerous chain of events," hints executive producer Carol Mendelsohn. Eve begins to feel that history is repeating itself and that Peter wants Amanda - just like Kent Demarr did in high school. What happens because of Eve will change all their lives forever. Again!

Big yawn! Doesn't sound too exciting.
