BIG
CHANGES
Here's how some primetime shows will look different this fall
The networks will be offering up plenty of freshman series during the coming weeks, but that's not all that's new. Some of your old favorites are returning with updated looks and fresh faces. Here's what you can expect the next time you turn on the tube...
Back To Basics On MELROSE PLACE
A revamped executive-producing team hopes to breathe life into this seven-year-old soap, which has been looking rather winded lately. It will take a new - and MP producers promise! - improved twist beginning Monday, September 14. That episode will open with news of the death of original character Matt Fielding, whose journal will unlock major secrets that will launch this season's stories.
The show will once more revolve heavily around the apartment complex, instead of going astray as it has in recent years. And look for Jamie Luner (Lexie) to be seen more as her character becomes Amanda's nemesis.
Looks-wise, the series will get a major facelift. "There's a concerted effort by everybody to rejuvenate the show and make it younger and hipper again," explains Pratt. "I don't think a show has to get older just because it's been on the air for a while. I think it's going to be a little more stylish than it's been. The jazz club is not going to be jazz anymore. And people are wearing too many ties on the show. We are going to loosen up people a lot more."
