From the December 22nd Soap Opera Update:

INSIDE STORY

When Stars Become
SOAP STARS
These celebs find it isn't as easy as it looks -
they're actually nervous!

They don't need the money. They don't need the acting practice. And they certainly don't need the exposure. So why are some of the hottest stars of film, TV and music popping up on daytime?
Because they want to, of course! Which just proves which we non-famous fans already knew: Soaps are it!

Rockin' The Night Away
Music is also moving to centerstage on a number of primetime soaps. Shows like MELROSE PLACE, ALLY MCBEAL and BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 have showcased well-known musicians by centering storylines around nightclubs and other musical venues. Sean Lennon appeared on MP, and Duncan Sheik and The Brian Setzer Orchestra are two of the most recent acts booked on 90210. Previously unknown singer Vonda Shepard, who performs on almost every episode of ALLY MCBEAL, has become a star.
And on the December 21 episode of MELROSE PLACE, the wildly popular group Hanson will perform in Kyle's jazz club Upstairs. Does everyone have soap fever?

Sean Lennon sounded like a girl. Speaking of girls, I can't wait for Hanson's appearance.
