Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna have been married for four years and are expecting their second child in June. Together, they star in the Lifetime movie Sex, Lies and Obsession (May 7 at 9 P.M. EST, May 12 at 8 P.M. EST, May 16 at 9 P.M. EST), a steamy drama about a sex addict and the woman who stands by him.
Harry, did you research your role?
HAMLIN: I was on the set of another project in Salt Lake City when I started working on this. So in terms of going out to strip clubs and all that, it wasn't available to me.
RINNA: [Laughs] So you went off of memory, didn't you, honey?
What was it like working together?
HAMLIN: It brought up a lot of interesting things for us because it dealt with classic issues that would come up in any marriage, such as sexual infidelity, lies and deception — all those things that are antithetical to what a marriage is really supposed to be about.
You make a great couple. Is it domestic bliss when you're working together?
HAMLIN: It's actually a different dynamic than working with other actors. You tend to have a different kind of empathy for someone that you're not with every day. There is some shorthand that goes on between a husband and a wife.
RINNA: Harry was very gentlemanlike with me. He took good care of me on the set, made sure I was comfortable, made sure I had what I needed.
Are you equally as doting, Lisa?
HAMLIN: [Interjecting] Well, I'm not pregnant. If I was seven months pregnant...
Would you work together again?
RINNA: Yeah. I don't think I'd do a series. I wouldn't recommend that for any married couple. But movies are fun. What do you think, honey?
HAMLIN: Yeah, I'd like to do a comedy. This was pretty intense stuff — we knew that going in. We knew that we were going to be dealing with some issues that married couples would rather not deal with. If we are going to do something else, I'd rather it be lighter. MONICA RIZZO
