The costars of Sex and the City hate one another

How it got started: Citing sources, New York Daily News gossip columnists George Rush and Joanna Molloy reported on July 24 that the fashionable foursome's offscreen relationships are as "chilly as cosmopolitans." The column suggested that Kristin Davis' costars avoided a party Mademoiselle threw to celebrate her August cover.
The truth as we know it: Sarah Jessica Parker called gossip columnist Liz Smith personally to refute the story. "It was horrible to wake up after working 20-hour days and have to read such nonsense," said Parker. "Kim [Cattrall], Cynthia [Nixon], Kristin and I are all friends, personally and professionally. . . . Do James Gandolfini and Michael Imperioli fall in each other's arms when they aren't working on The Sopranos?" As for the Mademoiselle party, their spokespeople say the three others all had prior commitments.
But don't forget: Unlike the cast of Friends, who receive equal pay, Parker is thought to make far more than her costars, which could cause tension in the show's fifth season.
