Where does Lisa Rinna go to unwind after the daily grind of playing an undercover cop on Days of Our Lives and cohosting the cable chat show Soap Talk? To the bathroom, of course! B Y L I N D A F R I E D M A N Peaceful, easy feeling "My bathroom in my house in L.A. is the place I go after work to calm down, to chill out. Harry [Hamlin, Rinna's actor husband] built it. It's the place in the house where I feel most calm. It's so beautiful, especially around 5 o'clock, when the sun comes in. I usually play classical music or something really light." Do not disturb — yeah, right! "I can't really get away from everything because there's no lock on the door. I get maybe 10 to 20 minutes alone, which is a lot for a mom! My kids [Delilah, 4, and Amelia, 15 months] always come in. They know where to find me." Built for four "It's an extra-large tub, really long and deep. You can totally stretch out. Sometimes Delilah will jump in with me. Amelia screams when you take her out. The most fun is putting them in together. Four can get into that tub." Primping on the go "I'm always running 15 minutes late in the morning. I give myself 20 minutes to get ready. Zoom, zoom, zoom. In and out. A half-hour at the very most. But if I'm really on it, and I've had my caffeine, it only takes me 20 minutes." She doesn't do windows but... "I clean the bathroom myself. I have to do it often. It's hard keeping up with an untidy husband and daughters." Office space "I'd like to create a space with a big closet and an office. I'd have my desk, my couch, a sitting room and my own walk-in closet — Harry and I share one now. It would be my own apartment in the bathroom. That's my dream!" |
Twenty minutes to primp may sound quick, but you've got to remember she doesn't have to do her hair or make-up. They take care of that on the set.
