Stockard Channing, Kristin Davis and Lauren Graham to Present at "THE 8th ANNUAL SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS" (3/10/02)

Screen Actors Guild Awards® nominees Stockard Channing ("The West Wing"), Kristin Davis ("Sex and the City") and Lauren Graham ("Gilmore Girls") will be presenters at the 8th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®, Executive Producer Jeff Margolis announced today.

The 2002 Actors® honoring the outstanding performances of 2001 in five film and eight television categories will be telecast by Turner Network Television (TNT) from the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center on Sunday, March 10, 2002 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 p.m. Central, 6 p.m. MT.

Six-time Actor® nominee Stockard Channing is honored for her role as First Lady Abigail Bartlet in "The West Wing" in both the Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Drama Series and the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series categories. The role has also earned her two Emmy nominations. She was nominated for an Actor® in 1996 for her supporting performance in the motion picture, "Smoke" and three times for Outstanding Performance by A Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries: in 1997 for "An Unexpected Family," in 1999 for "The Baby Dance" and in 2001 for "The Truth About Jane." Her next feature is "Life or Something Like It," opposite Angelina Jolie and she was recently seen in the features "The Business of Strangers", "The Matthew Shepard Story" and the Showtime film "The Red Door." Her recreation of her Tony-nominated performance "Six Degrees of Separation," on film brought her an Oscar® nomination in 1994. She also received Tony nominations for "The Lion in Winter" and "House of Blue Leaves" and a Tony Award for "Joe Egg."

Kristin Davis, who stars as Charlotte York on "Sex and the City" and her cast mates are celebrating their second Actor® nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Davis first garnered national attention for her role as devious Brooke Armstrong on "Melrose Place." She was recently starred in the telefilms "Take Me Home: The John Denver Story," "Three Days," "Someone to Love" "Atomic Train", and "The Heidi Chronicles."

Lauren Graham has been nominated for an Actor® for the second consecutive year for her outstanding performance as Lorelai Gilmore in "Gilmore Girls," a role which also earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Drama Series this year. She was recently seen in the feature "Sweet November" opposite Keanu Reeves and the independent film "Dill Scallion," which debuted on VH1. Other film credits include "Nightwatch" and "One True Thing." On television, she starred in the comedy series "Conrad Bloom" and "Townies" and had recurring roles in "Caroline in the City," "NewsRadio" and "Law & Order."


I already sent in my ballot and I voted for Friends over Kristin's Sex and the City.
