Hello, All!

This little parody was inspired whe I had visited my sister at the daycare
center where she works.  While there, I had met a parent who was busy
collecting her children, and she was commenting about the many "Lion King"
toys and products that were available, and that her children loved Simba and
all of his friends and just couldn't get enough of them.

Anyhow,  this is what came from the discussion.  Let me just say that I
enjoyed the "Lion King" a great deal, and don't mean to offend.  If anything,
I hope it'll give you a few laughs, instead.

"Have You Seen The Merchandise?"

We had seen a movie
'Twas called "The Lion King."
Our kids had thought that it was the greatest
It was the coolest thing.

I must admit I liked it
Until that fateful day
When I saw those movie tie-ins
Oh, much to my dismay.

Have you seen the merchandise?
Young Simba's everywhere.
In toys, and games, in almost everything
It almost is unfair.

So many things on sale now
Stuff kids look on with glee
And guess who foots the bill for all of this
It's parents just like me.

I'm sorry if I'm bitter
But what I say is true
Parents will curse the day when Disney makes
"The Lion King: Part 2."

Have you seen the merchandise?

On clothes, and sheets, on almost everything
It almost is unfair.
Have you seen the merchandise?
You know, they've gone too far
Selling things like Scar's biography
And sun shades for your car.

And if I buy this merchandise
It can be assumed
My bank account will soon be history
In short, my wallet's doomed.
