Kyle MacLachlan's Biography
Kyle MacLachlan was born on February 22, 1959, in Yakima, Washington, where he was
raised and educated. This talented actor claims to be a descendant of Johann Sebastian
Bach. More easily provable is the fact that MacLachlan developed his love of drama
when reading the "Hardy Boys" adventures as a child, acting out all the parts as he
went along. After theatre experience, Kyle was discovered for films by the talented
director David Lynch, who cast the actor as the ingenuous male lead of Dune and
Blue Velvet. In 1990, he won a Golden Globe award for his portrayal of FBI agent
Dale Cooper in the Lynch-created TV series "Twin Peaks." Kyle reportedly turned down
the Charlie Sheen role in Oliver Stone's Platoon. He made his directorial debut
with an episode of the made-for-cable anthology "Tales from the Crypt."
As for his personal life, during his "Twin Peaks" days, he dated Lara Flynn Boyle.
Recently he has been courting supermodel Linda Evangelista. The 5/20/96 issue of
People Magazine reported, "Supermodel Linda Evangelista’s next walk may be down
the aisle.
The 30-year-old cover girl has said yes to her longtime beau, actor Kyle MacLachlan, 37.
No wedding date has been announced."
