Richard Eitzen Tigara, 6 Nials
Michael Calhoon Ka'Toc, 6 Gorith
Game starts with a Bin'tak (minus aft section), the Frazi, the Ka'Toc and the Gorith in the SE quadrant of a 50x32 map.
Turn 12:
Ka'Toc beats the Bin'tak in initiative, maneuvers to
range two from the rear of the Bin'tak, and fires the heavy
laser and mag pulse, destroying the Bin'tak. The Frazis
destroy three of the Goriths, the Goriths miss the Frazis.
Meanwhile...
Tigara and Nial flee the Earth forces, the Tigara taking a heavy laser hit to the aft section (partly due to extra OEW from the Oracle). (OW!).
Turn 13:
Ka'toc goes to 8 OEW against the fighters, and
destroys them with LPC's when they attack the surviving
Goriths.
On the other side of the map the Tigara loses initiative to all Earth force ships. It does a turn, moves and then does a second turn (at speed 8!). The port thruster ends up taking an outlet and THREE efficiency criticals.
The Omega and Oracle move towards the Tigara, just barely staying out of the arc of the its forward guns. Several SPBs and a HL hit the right side of the Tigara, damaging a couple of
Nials return fire (at range 6) on the Oracle, scoring a crit on the main sensor array shutting it off on the next turn!
Turn 14:
The Ka'toc maneuvers towards the jump gate at 8 DEW.
At this point the Terrans are on the west side of the map (in about the middle of that side) when Brett manages to roll a class B force despite being on tier one (the worst die-roll chart for rolling for forces). Brett ends up with a Primus and Altarian (with 18 Sentris) jumping in near the SW corner of the map.
The Omega loses initiative to the Tigara and the Centauri.
After seeing the Omega move, all Centauri ships line it up directly in front of them. The Tigara move straight, pivots
left and then turns (using the rear and right thruster to turn right). This barely gives it a shot at the Omega. The Oracle then flies on top of the Omega. The T-bolts fly to range 6 on the Primus. The Sentris fly onto the T-bolts (from the side) which then combat pivot to engage the Sentris. The Nials take position near the Tigara. Procede to lots of high energy weapon discharge.
To make a long story short, the Oracle is COMPLETELY destroyed, as are two T-bolts, three Sentris and the starboard side of the Omega. The Primus eats the rear lasers of the Omega as well as a goodly number of SPBs.
Turn 15:
The Ka'toc maneuvers towards the jump gate at 8 DEW.
Nials shootup the Omega. T-bolts fire a few missiles at Sentris which procede to outrun them (but end up WAY out of position to defend Centauri ships later). T-bolts shoot (and miss) Nials. The Centauri ships
move away from other ships.
Tigara disengages through jumpgate.
Turn 16:
The Ka'toc maneuvers towards the jump gate at 8 DEW.
The Omega disengages by opening a jumpgate. The sentris slow to speed 12 and turn back towards the fight. The Nials and Thunderbolts attack the Centauri Primus from its port side. Their combined fire destroys a twin array, one of the battle lasers and the left thruster, and removes about half the port structure of the Primus. The Centauri point defense fire destroys a couple of thunderbolts, and makes one drop out.
Turn 17:
The Ka'toc manuevers to fire lasers at the Altarian
(but misses), overshooting the jump gate by a couple of hexes,
but gets attacked by fifteen Sentris at range six off its left
rear, and six Nials at range 5 off its right flank. The Nials
miss, but the Sentris destroy the left side heavy laser, and
damage the structure and thruster(outlet damaged).
The T-bolts fire 22 missiles at Primus (which put 10 OEW to anti-fighter). 14 missiles hit doing lots of damage to the Primus's aft section but not destroying it (two thrusters were destroyed however). The Primus's jump drive was badly damaged.
Two flights of the Thunderbolts roll badly, losing initiative to the Altarian, but all beat the Primus. They end up several hexes away from the Primus but in the same hex as the Altarian. The T-bolts all shoot the Altarian, doing some damage (and destroying a twin and a matter cannon) but take severe casualties in return. After the dust clears only six T-bolts survive!
