Tripping with Adam- June 25, 1998

Someone once told me that dreams only last a couple of minutes, but to most of us, they seem way longer than that. Like this one, this one seemed to last oh. 12 HOURS.
In my dream I was sitting at a bar stool at this bar somewhere in the mid-west. It was a really hot day and I was enjoying an ice cold Budweiser. George Thorouhgood was on a stage in the back singing "I drink alone." The next thing I knew, the bar door flew open, I heard this weird music, (it was just like an old Clint Eastwood movie) and Adam walks in the bar.
Everyone looks up at him and kinda cowers. Adam started walking towards me. This guy beside me, who by the way wasn't there 30 seconds before, leaned over, said "Watch out for that guy, he'll only cause havoc," then disappeared.
Dumbstruck by Adam's beauty I ignored the man's warning, and made eye contact with Adam the first chance I got. "Come here often," was the first thing out of his mouth. "Not often enough." And just then, he grabbed my hand and led me out of the bar.
We were walking down this dirt road, and a peice of tumbleweed flew by, and that music started again. "Did that really just happen?" I asked myself. And just like he was reading my mind, Adam said, "Yeah." He acted like we had known each other forever, and then he said, "So, did anyone bother you while I was gone?"
"What?" I questioned. "While I was gone, did anyone bother you?" "Uuuh, no I guess not." He could see by the look on my face that I was confused. "Oh, I see, your playing that game again, okay." Just then, I saw the words "I know something you don't know" come out of his mouth, in big bold type, visually... and I thought to myself, "did that really happen?" "Yeah." Adam said. "What! Did I really just say that?" I thought. "Yeah" he said again.
Anyways, not to digress on my inner most thoughts any longer. We started walking up this hill. I was having a hard time getting up it because it was very slippery, from all of the orange jello on the ground.
"Look at that," he said pointing to the sky, and I saw the last scene from Happy Gilmore, (with Abe Lincoln, the alligator & Chubbs), and he waved, and they waved back. "What is going on? Who are you?"
"I'm Adam, your soulmate, and your guardian angel."
WHOA! Did that throw me through a loop. Just then he took a small peice of paper out of his pocket. "Remember this?" I looked at the piece of paper, it was about the size of an index card, and it had a picture of Jesus Christ on it. And it all came back to me.
"Do you wanna take another one?" I asked. And we did. And it seemed as if almost immediately Adam started to get really happy & energetic.
"Oh my god, Adam, look at what I see!" I saw a bunch of little Grateful Dead bears running and dancing around. Adam and I started chasing them, and then he stopped, and looked at the sky. And suddenly it seemed very dark, Adam just stared, and I joined him. "Do you ever wonder blahbluebaloruporpeoblahblahblahuioe--!" Oh god that sounded stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid! "What?" Adam asked. "nothing I forgot what I was gonna say, how come every time I-I telk, I mean talk, I can't spit it out?" Adam still looked at the sky, saying nothing. I started to say something about him ignoring me, but I realized that I might not have said anything. And I tried to figure out what I was going to say next, but I realized that everytime I tried to do that, I started to forget what it was that I was thinking about in the first place.
Bam! That music again, I turned to my left to look for Adam, and he wasn't there, he was rollypollying down the hill. "Co-b-me ~bump~ on ~thud~ down, it's fun!" "Come down, was I going to come down soon? I didn't want to come down, I wanted to trip all night, god what would I do? Where was Adam, oh yeah that's right..." I looked down the hill and saw him waving, he was sitting on a rocking horse. I had to go see him, I couln't stay on top of that hill alone, it was getting dark up there, I can't contemplate this any longer, I would never go... so I laid down and started to roll. I heard Adams voice, "Oh yeah, this is fun isn't it?" I had not a thought in my mind, my head was jumbly and my leg hurt. I caught a glimpse of Adam with his arms to the sky..."I am the smartest man alive!"
BAM! I fell off of my bed and woke up, and realized that I fell asleep with Billy Madison on.
