Cassie's Bad News
by Wendy LeGault

Cassie was in her bedroom, cleaning it up. Andrew was away, preaching to someone. She noticed a small box in Andrew's drawer while putting his clothes away. Cassie, being the curious reporter she was, opened the box and found many little letters. She started to read one. It read:

Dear Andrew,
I hear your wife is in Brazil for a few
days. It sounds like a perfect time to
get together. How about Rodi's at eight.
Love, Corrinna

Cassie suddenly became very upset and realized all these letters were from everytime she was away on business. She threw the letters on the floor and ran out of the room.

Cassie entered Rodi's. She knew she had to find out if Andrew was realing having an affair. Cassie sat at the bar and got Max's attention.

"Hey. Max, when I was away in Brazil, did you see Andrew here with anyone?"

"Yes, actually, he was with a woman named, Corrinna. Why?" Max asked.

"I know her." Maggie stepped up. "She used to be Sister Mary Carry. For some reason, she backed away from being a nun."

"You must have influenced her." Max smiled at Maggie.

"Very funny, Max." Maggie turned back to Cassie but she had already left. "I wonder what that was all about?"

Cassie drove in her car, crying. She couldn't believe Andrew would do such a thing. All this time, she thought she was the bad one everytime she kissed Kevin.

"Kevin! I must see Kevin. He'll help me." Cassie said.

Kevin looked out his window and saw Cassie getting out of her car. He smiled but then frowned when he realized that it must be business. After all, she said that she could never be with him. Kevin let her in and immediately knew something was wrong when he saw her tears.

"Cassie, what is wrong?" Kevin helped her jacket off.

"Andrew....he's seeing..." Cassie was too upset to say a word.

"What about Andrew? Here, sit down and calm youself. Here's some water." Kevin sat next to her and stroked her hair.

"Thank you."

"Now tell me what's wrong."

"I found love letters in Andrew's drawers."

"He found my letters to you!"

"No, I threw those out so he couldn't find them."

"You did, it took all my time to write those. You're not saying HIS love letters?" Kevin's eyes widened.

"Andrew's having an affair with an ex-nun!" Cassie burst into tears again. Kevin hugged her after the shock.

"Oh Cassie, I'm so...so happy." Cassie looked up at him in confusion. "Not happy that he lied to you but do you know what this means?! We can finally be together!"

"Oh Kevin that is great! I couldn't deny what I feel anymore. Kiss me!"

Kevin and Cassie had the most romantic night ever in history.
