Possibility of New Episodes
Recently, CP creator Gary Goddard dropped by the site, and left his e mail address. A couple of people mailed him, asking about the possibility of a new season. (We are a persistant lot!). This is what Gary had to say:(Thanks to Trish for this e mail)
Needless to say I am gratified to see the response to Captain Power - fans are the most important thing in getting a new show on the air again, and yes, we HAVE been working on that. The landscape for television has changed dramatically since we first created Captain Power, but we have some support from a number of countried where the show was a major hit when it first aired. We are working now on trying to put together an international group of broacasters to assist us in getting the new shows made. We can't begin producing until we have outlets that will air it.
What this means is that its all a big maybe but they're working on it.I will keep people posted on developments as they come to my attention on this page.
Summary of Season Two Developments
There was not going to be a Spock style resurrection - Pilot was going to stay dead. Character development
was going to be the focus of the second season, as well as the introduction of two, possibly three new characters.
Captain Power himself was to undergo a significant metamorphosis. Previously almost to good to be true, Power was going to become a more hardened individual, driven from a war against tyranny, to a thirst for revenge. The first episode of the second season was expected to open with Power addressing the death of Pilot and was to be entitled 'Vendetta'. DiTillio described his character as becoming a sort of 'Mad Max' character. Power wasn't going to be Mr Nice Guy anymore.
To balance out Power's developments, Hawk was to take a more active role in leading the Soldiers of the Future as Power struggled with his guilt complex of having sent Pilot to her death and his preoccupation with revenge. More stories were to focus on Scout, who in the first season remained very much in the background. Tank was slated to spend more time outside his exoskeleton suit, in order to allow him greater character development.
New characters in the pipeline included a female android sidekick for Lord Dread named Morganna II. Dread was scheduled for some plastic surgery which would change his appearance. Tank was going to get a love interest in the form of the new female cast member, a hardened combat veteran called Ranger.

New Characters: Ranger and Morganna II
Ranger, full name Christine O'Connor, was scheduled to make her debut in the second season opener 'Vendetta'. She becomes the new 5th member of the
Power Team in spite of Power's initial reluctance to allow her to join them.
'Ranger' encounters the Power Team when she rescues Power from near death at Dread's hands during a futile attempt on the warlord's life by the distraught Power in the aftermath of Pilot's death. Although her sassy, brazen manner hardly endears her to Power (or to Tank, who becomes the target of her affections), she manages somehow to worm her way into the team and a power suit.
Larry DiTillio described 'Ranger' as follows:" flaming red hair [and] 6 feet of hellacious fighting female." Ranger's background is distinctly military although vague. She was previously with the Special Ranger Forces, Operation Rattlesnake.
'Ranger's motivations for wanting to kill Dread aren't very clear but it is suggested that it is more personal rather than cause orientated.
Although actresses had been auditioned for the role of 'Ranger', no definite decisions had yet been made when the plug was pulled by Mattel.
Morganna II is introduced to the Captain Power universe in a script written by Steve Gerber, although as early as 'Vendetta' we are told about her existance. Morganna II or Unit M-1 as Overmind refers to her, is a android, but with a human conscience implant within her. She represents what Dread seeks to achieve with all humans in his dream of a Machine Age and a Machine World.
Distant and unemotional in nature, with phenomenal strength (she is after all an android), Morganna II can appear to be human by covering her exoskeleton with skin like substance. This enables her to pass of as a human and mingle amongst survivors and various groups.
Morganna has a unusually close relationship with Dread and maintains contact with him through mind-to-mind telepathy link. Her background, mysterious as it is, does contain a key development that would have put a completely different spin on the second season.
Like Ranger, actresses had been auditioned for the role of Morganna II but no casting decisions made when the plug was pulled.
