"February 24, 1996"
I went to a dinner party at Donna's apartment last night. With Mac and the others away, I was pretty much free to become better friends with her. She's really been encouraging me to join her support group. The other two guests were also in the support group.
Donna wanted to invite this guy she met at work. She works as a receptionist at a small real estate office, the guy she met (and thinks is real cute!) delivers the UPS packages to them. Personally I think those uniforms look dorky, but Donna says he pulls them off well (I hope she doesn't mean literally yet!). She was afraid to invite Bob around her group friends in case the subject of HIV might come up and she's not ready to tell Bob yet. She's not even sure she's ready for a relationship yet (I know I'm certainly not, even if I wanted to) and is scared of scaring him off.
Anyway, Donna, and her friends Lisa and Beth all had a great dinner, dessert, and watched some old movies on tape. Donna had even taped that TV movie from last week, "Generation X" and we watched that. (I couldn't help noticing how much the actress who played Emma Frost looked like my mom! Is THAT how she would have looked as a blonde?) All three women are in their mid 20s, so they've taken me in a little sister, a lot like Brenda used to.
