ROBIN: I've lost so many people I've loved in my life, but I know that they are still with me. And I know that's
how I found you Stone. I know you think I taught you how to be free and enjoy life, but neither you nor I taught
the other that - we learned it together. After all the loss we've experienced, our love has helped us believe in
God again. Together we have laughed, cried, lived and learned how to hope and trust and love. I never believed in
anything lasting, not after my parents died, but I know that my love for you is forever. And I'm saying this in front
of God, in front of our family and friends, in front of everyone - I love you Stone Cates, and that will never go away.
I promise to protect and defend you from anything that may hurt you, honor and respect you, and love and trust you, to
have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until
we are separated by death.
Priest: May I have the rings please?
[Brenda & Sonny give rings to the priest]
S: I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and devotion to you, and as a promise that I will never leave you. (PUTS
THE RING ON HER FINGER)
R: I give you this ring as a symbol of my eternal love and fidelity and as a promise that I will always be with you. (PUTS
THE RING ON HIS FINGER)
P: I now pronouce you husband and wife. What God has joined together, let no man put asunder. You may kiss the bride.
(STONE KISSES ROBIN, AS THE CHURCH ERUPTS WITH CHEERING)
(LATER, AT THE RECEPTION AT THE OUTBACK SONNY IS ABOUT TO GIVE A TOAST)
SONNY: OK everybody, gather around so we can toast the happy couple. (EVERYBODY GETS GLASSES OF CHAMPANGE) Everyone got
your drinks? Good. I'm going to try to make this short. To Stone & Robin. Stone stumbled into my life about 4 or 5 years ago,
a street-wise kid, and a bit too much of a punk. (ALL LAUGH) But in those years, I've seen him grow into a wonderful, loving,
life-smart man. And while I'd love to take the credit for this transformation, (MORE LAUGHTER) I know it belongs to Robin. So to
the both of you. May you always have all the happiness that life has to offer, and all the love you have today, through-out the
rest of your lives.
ALL: Here-Here! (ect..)
M: I'd also like to make a toast. I promise to also try to keep it short. Stone, when you came into Robin's life, I was not happy.
That's no secret. But over time I have learned to respect you, to understand you, and even to like you. I had thought that Robin
couldn't do much worse than you. Now I know she couldn't do any better. Robin, while I know I could never take the place of Robert and
Anna in your life, you have been like my daughter for many years now. I love you as much as if you were my child, and I always only
wanted you to be happy. Stone makes you happy. That's all I could ask for. As Shakespere said 'When in eternal lines to time thou growest/
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,/So long lives this and this give life to thee.' I hope that the two of you always have love,
and joy, and respect for each other, and try to spend your life in happiness. Each day, just say 'I love you.'
ALL: Here-Here! (ect..)
S: I think it's about time for us to leave.
FELICIA: Wait, the bride has to throw her boquet first! All the eligible ladies gather by the stairs. (THEY DO.
ROBIN TURNS AWAY FROM THEM & THROWS HER BOQUET. GINA CATCHES IT. ROBIN THEN TURNS AND HUGS BRENDA, FELICIA, AND
MAC. MAC SHAKES STONES HAND, AND WRAPS HIS ARMS AROUND HIM IN A BIG HUG)
M: You take good care of her.
S: I will. (STONE & ROBIN HEAD OUT THE DOOR, WITH EVERYONE THROWING BIRDSEED AT THEM ON THEIR WAY OUT)
END
