stiffs,inc. information

It has been said that infighting, not adept investigation, led to the downfall of the four fugitives - resulting in three dead and the fourth currently awaiting his date with the gallows. What led the involved parties to pull off the daring robbery of the County Medical Examiner’s office is unknown, but these are the known facts:

Bryn Mars, Whitey Sterling, Paul Boring (thought to be an alias), and at least three others (possibly including the already sought after Herr Poelzig and his chauffeur, Paul "Lefty" Cain), met at the laboratory of one R.X. Mauser located in the Carpathians where it is thought the preliminaries for the plan were set. Apparently, Mssrs. Sterling and Boring were to drive down to the M.E.’s office, and brandishing tommy guns, were to blindfold whoever they found and rob the place of certain items. It was apparent by the rifled files and the discarded toe tags (including Sir Oliver Gladglum’s) as to what was taken, although exactly why is another matter.

It is believed that they might have been accompanied by one Donnie T. Tremors who was found severely beaten and dumped by the side of the road not far from the Examiner’s office. It may have been he who attempted to conduct an interview with the bound and gagged Examiner during the robbery, mentioning the Ludovico technique in the process.

Unfortunately for them, the Examiner got wind of R.X. Mauser’s experiments involving this technique, and he then contacted the authorities. Rushing to the laboratory in a frenzy, the police discovered the bodies of Mauser, Sterling and Boring, long since dead - Boring apparently having stabbed Mauser and Sterling. Mauser apparently having stabbed Sterling and Boring (repeatedly), and Sterling apparently having accidentally stabbed himself (also repeatedly). Bryn Mars, the bookkeeper for the operation, was found gibbering in the corner. Strangely enough, he was given the death sentence for a non-murder which he did not commit and now awaits the gallows. These four are believed to be only part of a larger group referred to as stiffs, inc., and the remaining three (believed to have been given new faces by Mauser as he lay bleeding) are as yet to be found.
