Geth

Dungeons and Dragons

Version 3.5

Geth

Level 9 Monk

Monks are primarily unarmed combat experts. Geth is now at the stage where most weapons he could have are less powerful than his own fists.

The main progression path of the monk gives them an increasing number of attacks per round at ever decreasing penalties. Other benefits include greater control over the bodies, improved immunity and beter defences.

Biography:

Geth's lycan form

Geth comes from a strange and far away land. His priory sent him on a 'fact finding and fund raising' quest. He found a band of adventurers in a pub and hooked up with them.

He was recently awarded a priory. The other players were given lands and titles, with which to furnish them with funds, but these things matter not to a monk.

Geth has been accused of being a bit of a rogue. Thieving bastard, was how one player put it. However Geth was quick to point out that he's never stolen from anyone who still needed their money or possessions. In other words, he rifles through the bodies of the recently dispatched (usually dispatched by the group) for anything valuable.
However this is all in keeping with his character. He is trying to obtain as much funding for his monastery as possible.

Geth has also been infected with lycanthropy, through a failed reflex roll. As ever, our resident DM Mark incorporated this seemlessly, and Geth seems to enjoy the advantages, although not everyone in the group knows about his affliction and some would be very unhappy to hear about it.

Additional notes:

Geth has benefited from one of the most unfortunate lapses of concentration to befall our beloved DM, Mark.
We were in a room littered with chests and boxes, clearly a 'treasure room', although it wasn't called that. We rummaged through the boxes and Mark rolled using a random generator to determine what was in each of them. It was a bit of a ruckus with players shouting all over the place.

In the midst of this, Geth obtained some valuable silks, a few gems, a couple of daggers. Nothing that was more or less valuable than the rest of the group. Then he opened the last box, and Mark rolled to see what it was. He rolled high, and the table said 'platinum'. More valuable than gold, the most precious metal in the game. The grin started to spread on my face...

Everyone was still distracted, and I asked mark how much platinum. He answered 'Some'.

This was to come back and haunt him. When he was pressed much later in the game, he rolled another random generator to determine how many ingots I had found. He rolled a three, and my grin became so wide, the top of my head fell off.

Instantly I was the richest player in the group. Rounds at the bar were on me. For the entire village. I was buying the other players new weapons, paying them to pick fights with random villagers and buying horses when we only needed to rent them.

In short, Geth got his bling. So really, I should say that he's a level 9 minted monk.
