The official Windtalkers website is up. Majority of the site is still under construction but looks interesting enough. Also, you can view the Windtalkers trailer here. Real Player 8.0 is required. (Trailer url sourced from www.aintitcool.com)
Sorry about the quality but the source is from the local Chinese newspaper. Featured on the poster are the two female leads, Cecilia Cheung (left) and Zhang Ziyi. The Legend of ZU is the title of this movie as opposed to ZU:Warriors From The Magic Mountain II. Can't wait for the movie...

Hong Kong's City Entertainment magazine published a series of pictures from Tsui Hark's ZU: Warriors From The Magic Mountain II. Intriguing. Especially that Angkor Wat looking monument and that strange-looking fella without a mouth. Wonder what it is... All Pictures Copyright © City Entertainment
Tsui Hark's CG/Live-action movie Master Q 2001 makes its Singapore debut sometime in mid April. Based on a immensely popular Hong Kong comic 'Old Master Q', the movie tells the tale of a famous cartoonist Alfonso Wong retiring thus leaving his three comic characters jobless. In their search for new jobs, they get involved in a messy problem involving a triad chief and a young couple (Cecilia Cheung and Nicholas Tse).
Tsui Hark has dabbled in computer generated (CG) imagery as far back as A Chinese Ghost Story II (remember the scene where Wu Ma's Taoist priest character uses his swords to from a shield?).
It was only a matter of time before he fully exploited the use of CG. Take his sequel to ZU: Warriors From The Magic Mountain for example where there are reportedly 1600 special effects shots and in the movie version of the immensely popular Hong Kong comic (Lao Fuzi) Old Master Q. Both Old Master Q and his pal Mr. Potato will be full CG characters interacting with live actors, much like Who Framed Roger Rabbit. But in the meantime, the wizard has has conjured a pair of virtual idols/singers who go by the name of AM/FM Girls. Frankly, I didn't know he had this up his sleeves until recently. Tsui Hark has worked with Menfond Electronic Art and Computer Design Co. Ltd, to create the pair of cyber babes. I was watching an entertainment programme when AM/FM Girls + Tsui Hark's involvement was mentioned. The next day, I hopped down to a CD shop and hey, there it was, the debut album of AM/FM Girls. The album comes in a 2-disc set. The first contains 12 tracks of techno-pop while the second is a VCD with 2 MTVs. For details, check out the following sites:
I was checking out MGM's website when I came across some info on John Woo's Windtalkers. According to the site, the film is due for a Fall 2001 release. Canadian actor Adam Beach plays Navajo code talker, Pvt. Ben Yahzee in the Second World War who becomes friends with his bodyguard, Sgt. Joe Enders (Nicolas Cage). Who the bonkers is Adam Beach? For clueless people like myself, check out the following site:
Surprisingly, Christian Slater is in the movie too! Check out MGM's Windtalkers Backlot for more details and some cool photos. Do check out the videos of interviews with Terence Chang, the film's producer.
Read about this in the local papers. Seems like John Woo and Terence Chang will produce the above-mentioned movie. Based on a cult comic, Chow Yun-Fat plays an immortal martial arts artist who takes a street kid under his wing.
Sourced this news from Aint-It-Cool-News. And in Harry's own words: "Hey folks, Harry here.... The Hollywood Reporter is reporting this morning that John Woo and his producing pard... Terence Chang have gotten the deal to produce a remake of Sam Peckinpah's THE KILLER ELITE which starred James Caan, Robert Duval, Mako and many others... The film is considered by some to be 'bottom end Peckinpah' but frankly I'm quite fond of the film... and if they keep it as dark as they should, it could be a good film. Now the director is to be Terry Cunningham from the script by John Jarrell, now if Woo were directing this himself I'd be a tad more excited about the whole thing... And I still hope it is a homerun for him, but the screenwriter was one of the writers behind ROMEO MUST DIE and that doesn't instill too much confidence, but I'll root for it simply because of Woo's involvement."
The sequel is in the works alright. Nope, Jet Li won't be starring in this movie. It stars an unknown, Andy On as Black Mask. Others include Tobin Bell, Jon Polito, Traci Lords, professional wrestler Rob Van Dam, and Tyler Mane (Sabretooth in X-Men). Incidentally, Rob Van Dam's website has a few photos of him in the production of Black Mask II where he plays a villain, Claw.
After filming the sequel to ZU: Warriors From The Magic Mountain, Tsui Hark will remake a 1977 movie entitled Death Duel (aka Sword Of The Third Master). It seems that Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) has signed on as well. Leslie Cheung is reportedly playing the Third Master, who has to face hordes of pugilists out to challenge him for supremacy. The film will be produced by Derek Ee, (Er Dong Sheng of Viva Erotica) who played the Third Master in the original.
