In the movie based on a famous battle during China's Three Kingdoms period (of 221-265 AD), Lin will play Xiao Qiao, the wife of Chow Yun-Fat's character, Zhou Yu. Full report at Taipei Times.

John Woo presents: STRANGLEHOLD 08 May

Chow Yun-Fat reprises his role as hard-boiled cop, Inspector Yuen (aka Tequila) in the 3rd person shooter for consoles and PCs. John Woo directs the storyline, camera-placements as well as the cut scenes. Chow Yun-Fat lends his voice to his character. Players will be able to blast at enemies in John Woo's trademark slow-motion glory in this game which uses the Unreal 3.0 engine integrated with the Havok physics system.

WONG FEI HUNG animated feature 27 January

Tsui Hark is injecting new life into the ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA franchise like what he did with the A CHINESE GHOST STORY movies - turning it into an animated feature.

Produced in mainland China, the animation tells the story of how the emperor subdued an evil dragon and imprisoned it within an arcane artifact known as the Rainbow Stone. Legend has it that anyone who possessed the stone will dominate the world. It's up to young Master Wong and his band of heroic friends to stop some villains from obtaining it. The plot sure sounds out of the world but that is how it was reported at Sina.com which I've translated here.

Incidentally, Tsui Hark is the scriptwriter, art director and get this, action choreographer for this feature. This animated feature also features the final composition by the late composer and long-time Tsui Hark collaborator, James Wong. A month before his death, James Wong had begun work in scoring music for the animation but he never finished it. The material was given to another composer who completed the soundtrack.
