Santa Barbara Weekly Resume

This has happened in "Santa Barbara" Jan. 13, 1997 to Jan. 17, 1997, airing on "PTV4" in Finland (in episodes from 1987).

Monday Jan. 13

Kelly and Jeffrey try to find Mason, but they can´t find him. They find one of Mason´s kidnappers injured, but he dies ass he tries to them where Mason is. The local sheriff suspects Kelly and Jeffrey for the crime, as he doesn´t like strangers like them.

As Eden has fallen from her wheelchair, and Chip has trouble breathing, Cruz comes in and rescues him, and helps Eden back in her wheelchair. Eden is grateful to him, for saving Chip´s life, and for coming at the right time. Eden thinks Chip is better of with his mother, and she asks Cruz to take Chip back to Tori. Tori is of course very happy to get her baby back. Eden talks to C.C, and as he would do anything for his daughter, he promises her that Tori can keep Chip, as long as she takes care of him properly. C.C goes over to Tori´s place with some of Chip´s toys, and forbids Tori from telling Cruz that he´s Chip´s biological father.

Jane gets some very interesting info on Johnny from Keith, by threatening to go to the press, and tell them all about his attempted rape on her. To save his neck, Keith gives some info on Johnny. Jane gives the information to Elena, who promises she will give it to Cruz. But instead for going with the information to him, Elena checks it up on her own, and is able to locate the family that had bought Johnny (to Chicago). Eleanor books a ticket on the next flight to Chicago.

Cruz wants to discuss Eden´s and his future together, but she doesn´t. Cruz can´t understand why she doesn´t want to discuss them, just like they´re some kind of tabu.

Cruz visits Cain at the hospital, and wants him to tell exactly what happened between him and Eden up at the cabin. When Cain tells Cruz that he can´t remember anything, Cruz grabs him. At the same time, Eden comes in, and orders Cruz to stop. Cruz goes outside Cain´s room with Eden, and tells her that he wanted to know the reason why she is rejecting him all the time, and when she didn´t give him any reason, he wanted to ask Cain. Eden tells Cruz that Eleanor had been to see her two times, and that she had made it pretty clear that she is the only woman for him.

Eleanor has a very big surprise for Brick. It´s Johnny ! Brick doesn´t know what to say, but he is very grateful to Elena for bringing his son back. Elena then tells him that it really was Jane that had the information which led to Johnny.

Cruz fires Elena, when he hears what she had told Eden, but he later hires her back, when he hears that she was the one who found Johnny. However he makes it clear that they will be assigned to different cases, and they won´t see each other privately.

Cruz tells Eden that Cain won´t be a problem, and that he can move in with them at the beach house, but Eden tells him that she has already made plans for Cain to move in with her at home when he´s released from the hospital.

Kelly and Jeffrey return to Santa Barbara from their trip in the desert, and Kelly is really surprised to see Eden. She can´t believe her eyes! Kelly tells her family about their trip and Mason. Kelly wonders why Eden isn´t with Cruz, and Sophia tells her everything, that Eden is pushing him away because of her handicap. Kelly tries to tell Eden that Cruz never would reject her, because he loves her so much. She threatens to go to Cruz and tell him everything, if Eden doesn´t tell him herself.

Cruz eventually figures out why Eden is rejecting him, and that he does it all for him.

Jeffrey tells Cruz, Tori, Julia, Elena and Perl about their "trip" to the desert to look for Mason, and the four attempted murders on Kelly. Both Jeffrey and Cruz find it strange that the killer didn´t harm Jeffrey, only Kelly. They also think that it is related to the thing that happened to Eden and that the same person is behind everything. It must be a person that really hates the Capwells.

Cruz goes over to the Capwells to look at a letter they had received from Mason. It´s message is very strange, telling that he had gone to look for the ones responsible for his kidnapping. Cruz tells them that the letter may be a fake.

Alex Nikolas, who had heard about the attempted murders on Kelly from Jeffrey confronts Elena about it, telling her that he´s sure that she is behind it. Eventually Elena admits. She really hates the Capwell, and it turns out that Elena really is C.C Capwell´s daughter!

Cruz tells Eden that he knows why she´s rejecting him; because the wheelchair, and her legs. He tries to tells her that it won´t make a difference, but Eden tells him that she is only half a person, and that Cruz deserves better.

Tori goes over to Paul Marshall´s apartment, trying to scare him into admitting that he intended to kidnap both Chip and Samantha, with a fake gun.

Cain arrives at the Capwell estate, and Eden is determined to help him remember, so he in turn can help her to walk. Cruz and C.C can´t understand why Eden wants him in the house, and why she believes he can help her.

Alex talks to Elena about her obsession with the Capwells, and that he wants her to get professional help. Elena promises him she will go and see a shrink.

Tori attempts to scare a confession out of Paul Marshall with a toy gun. She tells him that if he doesn´t write a note saying that he intended to kidnap both Chip and Samantha, she will kill him. Unfortunately Paul discovers that it´s a toy gun, and Tor´s plan fails. Julia is very upset with Tori for going through with her "plan" and tells her that the incident at Paul´s place will make it much more difficult to win their case, when Keith finds out about it. Keith orders Julia to look after her client better, or he will have to put her in jail.

Cain remembers Soo Li and thinks that she´s still alive. He tells Eden that he intends to go looking for her after he has fully recovered. When Eden tells him that Soo Li is dead, Cain begins crying, and Eden holds him. Cruz, who is on his way to see Eden, sees Eden holding Cain, and leaves without Eden noticing him.

When Kelly and Jeffrey are talking to each other in the telephone, Kelly notices that they have a very bad connection. Jeffrey suggests Kelly opens the telephone to make sure they aren´t being bugged. Kelly does as Jeffrey instructs her to do, but instead of a bugging device she finds something else; an engagement ring! It turns out that Jeffrey is actually calling from the same house. Jeffrey asks Kelly if she wants to be his wife. Kelly, who is absolutely stunned, accepts. She is so excited, and she wants to rush out and tell the whole world, but Jeffrey doesn´t want her to tell her family yet. He wants to wait for "the right moment". Kelly is sure that her family will be very happy for her.

The Capwells are having a party for Eden, to celebrate her return. Everybody is there, except for Cruz, who Eden didn´t invite. C.C is not too thrilled about having either Cain or Jeffrey there. Kelly wants to let her family in on their engagement, and Jeffrey finally agrees. Both Eden and Sophia are very happy for them, but C.C can´t accept it, mainly because Jeffrey had been charged with murder of his late wife. Cain feels uncomfortable at the party, and goes out. Eden follows him, because she´s worried about him. While Cain is out taking some air, Elena is hiding in the bushes, waiting for the right moment to kill Cain.
