Santa Barbara Weekly Resume
This has happened in "Santa Barbara" Jan. 20, 1997 to Jan. 24, 1997, airing on "PTV4" in Finland (in episodes from 1987).
Monday Jan. 20
- C.C tells Kelly that he will never let her marry Jeffrey, and he wonīt give them his blessing, but Kelly tells him they will get married with or
without his consent. Sophia tries to talk to C.C, but he tells her that he wonīt change his mind. Sophia thinks the only reason why C.C doesnīt want to let Kelly marry
Jeffrey is for the fact that Jeffrey is Pamelaīs son, but C.C denies it. He tells Sophia that he just tries to protect his daughter, and that he doesnīt trust Jeffrey.
- Elena is hiding in the bushes outside the Capwell estate, waiting for the right moment to kill Cain. Just as she is to shoot Cain, Eden shows up outside, and her plan to
get rid of Cain fails.
- Cruz is absolutely devastated when Eden doesnīt want any help from him, only from Cain. He tells Perl that Eden and he are slipping away from each other more and more each day.
While Cruz is talking to Perl and Elena, Eden calls and tells Cruz that Cain had run away, and that she is worried for him. She also tells that Cain had been drinking a little, and that she wants
Cruz to go looking for him. Cruz begins searching for Cain, and finds him on the beach, talking to himself about the Vietnam War and Soo Li. When Cain sees Cruz, he thinks that Cruz is the enemy in the war
and grabs a stock from the ground to defend himself. Elena shows up holding a gun, but Cruz orders her to put away the gun, and leave. Cruz finally succeeds to "disarm" Cain, and he takes him back to the Capwells.
- Jakeīs father, Will Morton, has a heart attack. He is taken to the hospital, but he doesnīt pull through (he was too weak due to his usage of alcohol). Jake tells Hayley that he should have been there when his father
needed him, but he wasnīt. Will had had drinking problems his whole life. Jake also tells Hayley that he will make sure that his father gets a proper funeral, because thatīs the least he can do for him.
Tuesday Jan. 21
- Gina returns from her high school reunion, and finds Keith asleep in her apartment. She hears him saying something about a Jane, and that he wants more from her. Gina wakes him up, and asks who Jane is, but Keith just tells her it was
a Jane in a movie he had seen. Gina doesnīt believe him. She is sure that Keith has been unfaithful, and wants him out of her apartment. She takes all his clothes and throws them all out through the window.
- Laken wonders if itīs the old feud between the Capwells and the Lockridges that is the reason why Lionel doesnīt approve of her relationship with Ted. Ted shows up and wonders if Laken will come with him to Will Mortonīs funeral. Laken tells him that
she doesnīt really like funerals, and that she and Jake arenīt exactly best buddies, so she doesnīt think she will come. She later changes her mind, and decides to go to the funeral with Ted.
- Keith orders Jane to shut up about them.
- Will Mortonīs funeral is held, and Jake holds a very touching speech over his father.
- Jeffrey and Kelly are looking for a new model for their new campaign for a new perfume. They have several
guys applying for the job, including a guy named T.J, but Kelly and Jeffrey donīt think any of them are suitable for the job.
Kelly thinks Jake Morton would be perfect for the modeling job, and Jeffrey agrees.
- Eventually Gina figures out that the only Jane Keith could have meant must be Jane Wilson. She goes straight over to Johnnyīs Place and orders Jane to stay away from Keith. Jane tells Gina that Keith tried to rape her, and that she only tried to get some information on
Johnnyīs kidnapping, and in order to get it, she had to sleep with Keith. Gina and Jane end up in a fight, and a man has to separate Gina from Jane. In her rage, Gina kicks the man, who turns out to be a police officer. He has Gina arrested for assault and battery, and takes her to Keith.
Keith, who wants revenge for Gina throwing him out of her apartment, has Gina thrown in jail.
Wednesday Jan. 22
- Gina is furious with Keith for having her arrested and thrown in jail, where she had to spend her whole night. Keith tells Gina that he might consider dropping the charges for assault and battery if she forgives him for his "thing" with Jane. Gina promises she will forgive him, if he lets her go, and
drops the charges.
- Carmen happens to pick up the phone while Eleanor is talking in the telephone. She hears her talking to a doctor, asking about Cainīs medication. Carmen tells everything to Perl. She thinks itīs strange that Eleanor had asked about Cainīs medicine, and she asks what Perl thinks. Perl tells her that itīs
pretty clear that Eleanor is conducting her own investigation on Cain. Perl orders Carmen not to tell anyone, not even Cruz, about the call. He begins conducting his own investigation on Eleanor, because he is sure that she is hiding something.
- Cruz is busy building a ramp for Edenīs wheelchair, because he intends to invite her over to his place, and heīs very excited. Cruz is absolutely sure Eden will come. He tells Perl that he doesnīt care about Edenīs handicap, and that it wonīt be a problem (they will deal with it together). Cruz sends Perl over to
the Capwells with the invitation. Meanwhile Elena goes over to the Capwells, and asks if she could speak to C.C. While Rosa goes looking for C.C, Elena puts a medicine bottle on a table nearby. Eden and Cain wonder what she is doing there, and Eden tell her that C.C isnīt there. Perl shows up with the invitation, and he also wonders what
Elena is doing there. Perl delivers the invitation to Eden, and leaves with Elena.
- Cruz, Carmen and Brick are finished with the party preparations, and Brick promises that Carmen can stay at his place over the night, when Eden calls and tells that she wonīt be able to come. Cruz, who doesnīt intend to give up, buys some flowers and goes over to Eden. He gives her the flowers, and is able to get her over to his place.
Cruz shows Eden the wheelchair ramp, and tells that he has been reading some books about her handicap, in order to understand it better. They have dinner together, and Cruz tells Eden that he wants her to stay over the night. Eden then wants to go home, but Cruz tries to convince her to stay, by telling her how much he loves her, and that he knows she
loves him too. Cruz picks Eden up from her wheelchair, and they share a kiss.
Thursday Jan. 23
- Perl tells Carmen that he thinks they should keep a close look on Eleanor.
- After Eden and Cruz have kissed, Eden wants Cruz to put her down. She tells him that she is a whole different person now, and that they canīt get back what the once had. She thinks Cruz deserves better. Cruz then tell Eden that he wonīt give up on her now, when he didnīt give up on her when he thought she was dead. He tells her a story about a girl, who he knew when he was in
high school that became paralyzed from the neck down in a car accident. She got married, and even got kids. The wheelchair didnīt stop her from living a normal life. Cruz tells Eden that he wants them to start over from scratch tonight.
- Rosa serves Cain his medicine as usual, but after taking it, he falls down on the floor and has trouble breathing. Rosa calls for an ambulance, while C.C checks up on Cain. After the ambulance has taken Cain to the hospital, C.C calls Eden and tells what has happened. Cruz takes Eden over to the hospital. Cruz thinks Cainīs attack could have been caused by his medication. He calls
Perl, and tells about Cain, and that he suspects his attack was caused by the medicine. Carmen and Perl are now pretty sure that Eleanor is involved in it somehow, because she had been asking questions about Cainīs medication.
- While the Capwells are at the hospital, Eleanor goes over to the Capwells and switches the pills back to Cainīs normal medicine. Cruz comes in, and Elena is forced to hide in a room. Cruz takes Cainīs medicine, because he intends to have the content analyzed. Rosa gives him two pills that Cain had dropped when he fell. Cruz has the bottle and the pills analyzed, but they check up okay.
- Cain wakes up, and he wants Eden to tell him about the cabin again. He suggests that they should go back to the cabin, and start their own life there.
- C.C is not too thrilled when Ted tells him that heīs going to visit his uncle Grant in Boston for a few days. He had asked for Tedīs help. Ted knows that C.C and Grant donīt get along, but that shouldnīt stop him from seeing his uncle.
- Carmen asks Eleanor about the phonecall she had made, and why she had pretended to be Cainīs doctor. Eleanor answers that she wanted to check up on Cainīs medicine because she had heard that such medicine could be behind Cainīs unpredictable behavior.
Friday Jan. 24
- Kelly and Jeffrey are working on their new campaign, and they want Jake Morton as their model. Kelly calls Jake, but Hayley answers. Kelly tells her that they want to see Jake as fast as possible in their office for a modeling job, and that he could earn up to 1000 dollar a day. Jake isnīt too interested in posing as a model with almost no clothes on at all. He tells Kelly and Jeffrey that he has to turn the offer down. But Hayley thinks Jake should consider taking the job, because he could make
a lot of money. He would be able to pay for his fatherīs funeral much faster, and even go to vet school. Jake tells Hayley that if he would take the job, he would do it becuase he would be able to help Hayley to finance her studies.
- Tori receives a phonecall from Mason. He tells Tori that heīs all right. Tori tells Mason that C.C is doing everything he can to take Chip from her, and that she needs him to come home. But Mason tells that he canīt come home yet. Tori wants to ask Mason where he is, but the call is terminated before she has the chance.
- Toriīs preliminary hearing is held, and Tori is determined to represent herself. Julia tries to get the judge to force Tori to get an attorney, by the judge tells her that Tori has every right to represent herself. Julia tries to tell Tori that she doesnīt have a chance against Keith, but Tori doesnīt change her mind. The hearing begins and Tori gives up her rights to legal representation.
Keith presents the photos of Paul Marshall and Tori together as evidence that they were more than working partners (in Hollywood). Tori objects to what Keith says about her, and tells that it isnīt true, but as she fails to state a ground for her objection, the objection is overruled. Keith tells the judge that he canīt help Tori with the grounds for her objections, and he agrees. Now Tori understands that she must have an attorney if she wants to win the case, and she asks the judge if he will grant her more time to find proper
legal representation. Despite Keithīs protests, the judge decides to postpone the hearing one week, so Tori can get an attorney. Tori tells Julia that she wants her as her attorney.
- While the Indian is asleep, Mason tries to kill him, but another of the kidnappers stops him.
- Jeffrey goes over to talk to C.C about him and Kelly. He asks C.C to give him a chance. C.C tells him that he wonīt forget that he is Pamelaīs son, and he will never let him marry Kelly. Kelly is happy that Jeffrey at least tried to talk to her father, even if he didnīt change his mind.
