Sophia is very curious about the hotel name, and finds out that Regina is staying at the Dubarry Arms Hotel on Grand Avenue.

Sophia tells her that C.C. despises her even more than she does, if that is possible. Gina thinks she has touched a nerve, but Sophia tells her she's perverse, and leaves the hotel room. Gina shouts that she can't be sure about anything.

Mason thinks they could be assigned another judge if they ask for a postponement, but Julia doesn't think it is a good idea. Mason says not even judge Larsen will stop them from proving Cruz innocent, and that they need to find the witness, who had been seen near the Laser Palace the night Elena was killed.

Mason tells Tori that he doesn't think their marriage can survive if she participates in the new movie being shot in Santa Barbara.

Brick takes Eden, while Cruz turns himself in to the guards and Keith. Keith asks who helped him, but Cruz tells him he did it all by himself. He offers Tori some drugs, but she explains to him that she doesn't want to get into such things. Mel tries to convince her that it's just a one-time thing, and that she won't get hooked, it will just get her to relax. He also explains that they need to get through the whole script that evening.

Mason is upset with Eden for pulling such a stunt, but Julia tells him what's done is done, and that there's nothing they can do about it now. Keith shows up in the courtroom, and tells Eden that she will have to get out, because it's a closed hearing. Julia tells Keith to shut up, and that judge Larsen gave her permission to be there. Shortly after, the judge enters the courtroom, and explains that the hearing is in order. She also points out that the hearing's purpose is to evaluate grounds for an continuens in the trial of Cruz Castillo. The judge asks the defense to present grounds for continuens. Mason starts by telling her that the defense needs to locate an eyewitness, who saw the incident at the Laser Palace. Keith objects, and he tells the judge that don't know what relevance this "witness" will have. Keith also wants to have it noticed that Cruz attempted an escape later that morning, but Mason points out that he didn't mean to escape, he just wanted to spend some time with his fiancee, who he been kept away from by the district attorney in a very cruel way. Keith suggests they begin the trial soon, before Cruz tries to escape again. Julia points out Cruz's past reputation as a police officer. The defense tells the judge they have nothing further to add. Pamela tells Gina that from now on she prefers to work alone, but Gina explains to her they had a contract. When Pamela insists on working alone, Gina threatens to go to Mason and Jeffrey and tells them their mother is alive, and living in Santa Barbara. Pamela begs her not to do it.

Mason looks at a sketch of the woman with the vale, who was seen at the Laser Palace, by another person. The person had described the woman, and a sketch artist had drawn the sketch based on her description. Mason thinks the drawing gives them something to go on. Unfortunately, Gina happens to be outside his office, and hears their discussion. She immediately realizes the woman must be Pamela. Gina follows the sketch artist to Johnny's Place and pretends to be Mason's secretary. She asks some questions about the woman with the vale. She wonders what the woman had to do with the murder, and the sketch artist explains that she had been seen leaving the Laser Palace the night of the murder.

Jane goes over to Keith's office, and threatens to tells everybody about his attempted rape on her, but Keith doesn't think anyone is going to believe her, and picks up a file on Roxanne, which he shows Jane.

Tori asks Mason if he can get her out of the testimony, but he explains to her that he can't do anything. Tori is afraid that Keith knows something about Chip, but Mason calms her down, and assures her that he can't know anything about him.

Mel tells T.J. and Jake he will draw up a contract immediately. He thinks Jake can become a star.

Cruz's trial begins, and Keith presents his case to the jury. He compares the case with Romeo and Julia. He tells the jury they can't allow sympathy to go before justice. Keith explains to the court that they have both Cruz's sister Carmen, and Pearl Bradford who had testified that Elena had offered herself to Cruz, and that he will be able to prove that Cruz and Elena had an affair. He thinks Cruz dumped Elena when Eden showed up in town, and that Elena threatened to tell Eden about their affair. Because of that Cruz decided to kill Elena. Keith finished by telling the jury it was a murder in the first degree, and that the state of California asks for the ultimate penalty, the death penalty.

Next in turn is the defense, and Mason presents their case. He tries to convince the jury that the story Keith told the is fictional, and that there's no evidence that supports anything Keith said. He points out Cruz's reputation as a cop. He also tells the court Cruz remained faithful to Eden under the time she was presumed dead, and that he intends to present proof that Elena was a violent woman, that came to SB with only revenge in her mind. Mason explains to the jury that the tragedy in this case is that a good and honest man is being prosecuted for a crime he didn't even commit, and he tells them he intends to show the court that Cruz is the only man who couldn't have killed Elena.

Mel offers Tori some cocaine, but she tells him she doesn't want any. Mel then tells her that if she feels depressed, she can always come to him, and he will help her to relax.

Keith questions the coroner. He asks him if Elena could have lived long enough to give a dying declaration, and the coroner answers that it's certainly possible. The coroner explains to Keith that Elena was shot from extremely close range. The defense hasn't got any questions for the witness.

Hayley accuses T.J. of exploiting Jake for his own benefits. She thinks he doesn't care about anybody else than himself.

The prosecution calls Eden Capwell to the stand. Keith asks her why she wanted everyone to believe she was dead, and Eden answers that it was so snowy in the mountains. She also points out that she was paralyzed so it was very difficult to contact anyone. Eden tells Keith that she didn't want to come back, because she was afraid of being a burden for Cruz. Keith then asks if she didn't want to come back because she was afraid of not being able to satisfy the defendent's sexual needs. Mason objects, and tells the judge Keith is badgering the witness. The judge tells him the objection is overruled, and orders Eden to answer the question. Eden answers yes. Keith wants to know where she went after she returned to Santa Barbara, and Eden tells him she first went to the beach house, but Cruz wasn't there. Then she went to his office, but he wasn't there either. After that, she had gone back to the beach house, and there he was. Keith then asks Eden if they were reunited, but Eden explains to him that it wasn't the right time. Keith wonders if Cruz was alone, and Eden answers that he wasn't, he was with Elena. Keith asks her what Cruz and Elena was doing that stopped her, and Eden is forced to tell him that they were kissing.

Mason questions Eden. He asks her why she decided to stay in her father's house after she returned to SB. Eden explains to him that she had fallen and hurt herself, and that the doctors had told her that she would never walk again. She tells the court once again that she didn't want to be a burden for Cruz. Mason then asks Eden when she realized her handicap wasn't an obstacle, and she answers that once when Cruz was very close to dying, she realized she couldn't live without him. Eden also tells the court that she has always loved Cruz and that she doesn't believe Cruz has had an affair with Elena. Keith points out that Cruz had been married to Santa Andrade one year ago. The judge explains that the court is adjourned.

Friday March 14

She finds out that her name is Regina Simpson from a hotel manager. He also tells Carmen that Regina had drugs delivered to her from a pharmacy two or three times.

Pearl tells Keith that he and Elena had been involved, but that she broke it off because she had her eyes set on Cruz. He points out that Cruz wasn't interested in her. Later, in cross-examination, Mason asks Pearl if there was any kind of romantic involvement between Cruz and Elena, and he answers that there wasn't. He also tells Mason that the only reason why Cruz wanted to get close to Elena was because he wanted to find out what she was up to.

Carmen tells Pearl, Mason and Julia about Regina, and Pearl tells her that he will take over, and locate the woman. Pearl calls up the pharmacist, and he explains to him that Regina is living at the "Starlight Plaza" hotel.

Keith questions Carmen about the trip to the island where she left Cruz and Elena alone. He wonders if she knows exactly what went on between the two, but Carmen tells him that she can't, but she explains that Cruz would never sleep with Elena, because he loved Eden too much. She admits to Keith that she tried to get Cruz and Elena together. After the questioning, Eden tells Carmen that Cruz is happy that she told Keith the truth.

Keith calls Alex Nikolas to testify, and he asks him if Elena was in love with Cruz. Alex answers that he thinks so, but explains to Keith that Elena was very secret about her love life. In cross-examination, Mason asks Alex if he had any knowledge of Elena's secret plot against the Capwell children. Alex, however, denies knowing anything about his daughter's plans. He also denies being involved in her plans in any way. Judge Larsen calls for a brief recess.

Julia and Cain locate the witness at the hotel. Julia tells her that she will have to testify, and that they will get a supina if they have to. Julia asks her who she is, and is absolutely stunned when the woman briefly removes her vale, and presents herself as Pamela Capwell Conrad.

Keith questions C.C. about what Cruz was doing when he found him and Elena. Keith asks C.C. if Elena had any dying words, and he's forced to tell the court that she said that Cruz killed her.
