Dr Who actor Jon Pertwee has died in his sleep aged 76

Although his showbiz career spanned 60 years, he was best known as the cult Time Lord and for his ten-year stint as children's character Worzel Gummidge.

He died of a heart attack while on holiday in Connecticut with his German-born second wife Ingeborg and friends. "He died suddenly", said his agent.
