On Saturday 8th June 1974 at 6:02pm, the familiar features of the Third Doctor disappeared to be replaced by those of the Fourth Doctor.
Tom Baker was born on the 20th January 1934.
He played the Doctor for an epic 6 years, 2 months, and 25 days, and appeared in 42 stories. To see the dates for these stories click here.
He also played Sherlock Holmes and he used that costume in the story the Talons of Weng-Chiang.
Currently Tom can be seen as Donald McDonald in Monarch of the Glen, and heard as the narrator in Little Britain. He also appeared as Wyvern in the remade Randall & Hopkirk deceased with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer.
He is also a popular character for the team of Dead Ringers.
There were a number of guest stars over the 6 years.
Obviously a large number of locations were used in this time.
