BINIBINING PILIPINAS MAJA WINNERS


1973 was the year that the Binibining Pilipinas-Maja title was born under the tutelage of Madame Stella Marquez de Araneta of Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc. This was the third major title joining the equally-renowned Bb. Pilipinas-Universe and Bb. Pilipinas-International titles. But the Philippines first represented the country in 1972.

1978 - Ligaya Padilla Pascual
1979 - Ava Quibranza (semifinalist & Best National Costume Maja Internacional)
1980 - Maria Asuncion Spirig (semifinalist & Best in National Costume Maja Internacional)
1981 - Josephine Relucio Bautista (Maja Popularidad & Best in National Costume Maja Internacional)
1982 - Nanette Cruz
1983 - Maria Anna Cadiz (semifinalist & Best in National Costume Maja Internacional)
1984 - Maria Bella Nachor (went on to compete in the Miss International Pageant to replace Catherine Jane Brummitt, the official Bb. Pilipinas-International winner who was unable to qualify the age requirements. Miss Brummitt then on competed in the Miss Maja International Pageant instead)

1985 - Maria Luisa de Asis Gonzales (2nd runner-up & Best in National Costume Maja Internacional)
1986 - Maria Cristina Ramos Recto (Maja Talent & Best in National Costume Maja Internacional)
1987 - Maria Luisa Jimenez (semifinalist Maja International)
1988 - Maria Muriel Oleriana Moral (Maja Simpatica & Best in National Costume Maja Internacional)
1989 - Jeanne Therese Plata Hilario (2nd runner-up Maja Internacional)
1990 - Precious Bernadette Tongko {no international pageant held}
1991 - Maria Lourdes "Alou" Gonzalez (went on to compete in the Miss Universe Pageant to replace Anjannette Abayari, the official Bb. Pilipinas-Universe winner who was dethroned. Miss Gonzalez was appointed as the new Bb. Pilipinas-Universe titleholder and the Miss Maja Philippines title was given to the First runner-up, Selina Manalad)
1991 - Selina Antancio Manalad (Maja Popularidad Maja Internacional)
1992 - Marina Benipayo (went on to compete in the Miss World Pageant to replace Marilen Espino, the official Bb. Pilipinas-World winner who was unable to compete in the international pageant due to illness.)
