The
3D Rooms
I was graduated as a Civil Engineer and spent almost 7 years as a Structural
Engineer in Encona Engineering Inc, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
But since I was also involved in setting up the SOP to automate the Design
and Drafting, I was exposed to AutoCAD®
and start doing some programming in AutoLISP in 1985, on top of my BASIC
and FORTRAN in FEM stuff. I got chance to work with machine ranging from
Apple II, IBM
PCs, HP 1000 series, Digital VAX751, Apollo Domain DN3000, and others.
Also I do some of my Structural analysis using GTSTRUDL from Georgia Tech.

In 1989, I quit my job as Structural Engineer and become a Technical
Manager in one of the Autodesk VAR in Indonesia, and setting up an Authorized
Training Center in Jakarta. As the more demand of Architectural Visualization
increase, I used the early 3D graphics software called BIG-D, and then move
up using Autodesk Renderman and Autodesk 3D Studio. |
In 1991, the company spin off to make a division in Computer Graphics
& Animation using Softimage
1.61 on an SGI Personal Iris 25TG. During
that period I also did some Demos and Training for Softimage VAR in Singapore,
and Softimage in NAB & Siggraph. |
In 1993, I join Gema Cipta Media Animasindo, also using Softimage,
Eddie, and a new introduction to Matador
from Parallax. I use parallax mostly because it's macros and channels, and
the scripting I found really powerful, we do digital ink and paint job for
local Cartoon Film Production. |
In 1995, I join Pyramid
International Image, as a 3D Animator, and I would like to put some
of my works in this page. As the demands of local market start increasing,
in 1996 Pyramid bought one unit of Henry V6 Concurent
Editor. |
In 1997, I join Videotama Kwartamas (a.k.a Video Headquarter Jakarta),
and work with FlintRT Digital Image Integrator
from Discreet Logic. |
In 1999, I join Postindo Promedia Audiovisual (a.k.a Post-Office), still
using Softimage 3D and Alias|Wavefront, and compositing using Inferno
and Flint, and Fire
for Editing. |
