My Music

What type of music do I listen to? Get ready for a strange combination. I basically like just about all types of music, although I don't care much for rap. Early rap is okay, but 90's rap is terrible. You also won't find me listening to the likes of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Jr., or even Garth Brooks. But I have been known to listen to some country-sounding music, most notably, some songs by British singer/songwriter Billy Bragg--who himself is not a country singer.

Having grown up for the most part in the 1980's, that is the music that I prefer to listen to. It also has more originality than most of the music produced in the 90's. So basically, I like a lot of songs that break the 90's mould and show some creativity. There are some songs like that out there today, but not many.

Billy Bragg, who writes political-social songs, and refuses to stick to any one category of music, is my favorite singer.

Other groups you may or may not have heard of that I listen to include XTC and the Gear Daddies (a band originating out of Austin, MN that mainly tours the southern US I believe). Neither one of these bands are likely to be heard on popular radio stations that I know of.
