Santo Vs. Blue Demon
If you know anything about Mexican wrestling,
or Lucha Libre, or Mexican movies, you know who El Santo is. He was the
greatest hero of his day, starring in a ton of movies and wrestling his
way into legend. Blue Demon is a bit less well known as a movie star, but
was a much better luchador, or wrestler. This font is taken from the movie
posters of Santo. The SANTO part is the caps and is based on Aztec architecture
as well as the writing and sewing of Mexican culture. My parents used to
have a really cool serape that had this type of art on it. The BLUE DEMON
part is the lower case and is based on a bloody and attacked look. Keep
in mind that I didn't do punctuation as these are more headline type fonts.
Coming up soon, we'll have another Versus font that has two more Mexican
inspired fonts.
You should watch some Lucha. El Hijo del
Santo is awesome, so are Dr. Wagner Jr., Negro Casas, Ultimo Dragon and
so many others.
I trained in lucha libre before I learned
American style pro wrestling.
Use the font in a happy way.
