After his excellent scores to The Three Musketeer and Robin Hood, I have always expected this hard to find score to be an excellent one. However, it is a disappointment. This score does have the same orchestral color as The Three Musketeer and Robin Hood but it does not have a dominant melody as the latter. Therefore, there is nothing that you can hum or whistle with when you are listening to the score. Due to the weirdness of the movie, it makes the score a little weird too. However, those weirdness is not as enjoyable as Elfman weirdness. It does have a motif that uses occasionally in some tracks. But that motif is too weak to call it a theme. So, unless you have too much money or a serious Kamen fan, otherwise, please skip this one. | |
