Most of the tracks are dark and quiet. Well, the movie is the horror sci-fi after all, the music cannot be glorious and symphonic all the time. A quiet symphonic theme is composed and is used in some of the exciting scenes. Fast pacing percussion and strings are companied the trumpets soli in the theme. This can be heard clearly in the Ripley's rescue scene, which appears quiet early in the movie. The score is performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.
