Another good action drama score by Zimmer (orchestrated by Shirley Walker). The main theme is very heroic and I like it a lot. You can feel the braveness of a fire fighter and the proudness of being one of them. Other then that theme, there is another theme developed (in track 6), which I think is used in some movie trailers. Alternation between stings and percussion (mainly timpani) is the key of that theme. Some orchestrations sounds like Elfman's "Batman." (Although Shirley Walker only conducted the music of "Batman" and Steve Bartek did the orchestrations.) Drums has a very important role in the soundtrack. (At least 50% of the music uses drums as the rhythm.) It make the music fits even better to the movie. There are some nice trumpet solos too. It is an excellent drama score in general. It also has two songs written and performed by Bryce Hornsby.
