If you don't live in the States, you may not be familiar with the outrageous duos. Even if you don't know them, you would never expect such a serious score from John Frizzell. I have not heard his score to Alien Resurrection yet. But I have not heard a lot of good things about it. But if you have heard this score, you would have had hired him to score Alien too. You may not believe this, but most of the score can be used in Alien and fits well. The first track "Buttkong" sounds just like an opening title for an alien movie. The score does not have a dominant theme, but it does leave you with a good impression. The only tracks that sound like comedy score are "Beavis the Sperm" and the last two cha-cha tunes. I just wonder how does this serious orchestral score work with this hilarious movie. If you are disappointed from Frizzell's Alien Resurrection, this one may make you feel better. | |
