This is the eighth collaboration between Director David Cronenberg and Howard Shore. The films that they have worked together include The Fly, Naked Lunch, and Videodrome. This film, about car crash and sex, received a electronic music score from Shore. The score is performed by a small group and mainly by electronic guitars. The music sounds a little mysterious, or ...... it sounds like it is on drugs. There is no actual main theme, but there are certain motifs and techniques keep appearing in the score. The score is unique in a way but I don't quit appreciate it. Although it does not have a theme, the score is not that empty. It more than just background music. Although the whole score is dark and low key, it still has some good moments. Required taste maybe?
